The World's Hardest Classic Sudoku
Added 2022-03-19 20:44:52 +0000 UTCAs mentioned in tonight's video, we're thrilled to share this puzzle with you. It's called Palpatine's Design and it's the work of Philip Newman. Philip has been working on finding the world's hardest classic sudokus using computer programming for some time and has recently discovered some INCREDIBLY difficult sudokus that completely stump ALL computer solvers (unless they're allowed to use trial-and-error/repeated bifurcation/guessing!)
This sudoku can be solved WITHOUT trial-and-error and we're going to run a competition to see if any of you can find the trick. If you manage to do it, send us an email at crackingthecryptic@gmail.com with your solution AND how you worked it out. The best and most beautiful entries (as judged by Philip) will win a prize. We'll give you until the end of March :)
Good luck!
Simon & Mark
Rules: Normal sudoku rules apply.

2022-04-03 20:20:18 +0000 UTCReally enjoyed this puzzle. Hated making a video to explain it because I can't say words in an intended order!

2022-03-21 11:30:52 +0000 UTCI'd love to submit my answer, but my last emails and even Patreon messages haven't gotten any replies. Can you please confirm you're hearing from me before I write it up or do a video?
