EDITED Feb reward: Quite Approachable Sudoku Hunt
Added 2022-02-01 16:00:07 +0000 UTCHello Patreons!
Thank you so much for supporting us. here is our monthly reward for all patreons: a QAS (Quite Approachable Sudoku) hunt. There is one puzzle from each of the types in the CTC apps: Thermo Sudoku, Killer Sudoku, Miracle Sudoku, Arrow Sudoku, Sandwich Sudoku, Chess Sudoku and Classic Sudoku.
Nothing too hard here, but remember that different letters shown in the puzzle must represent different numbers. There are links in the pdf document to play the puzzles in our software.
To be in with the chance of a prize, send the word required by the document to crackingthecryptic@gmail.com by 4pm GMT on 20th Feb 2022. Good luck!

2022-02-20 01:10:23 +0000 UTCOooooh! Thank you! I spent over two hours on that puzzle, including redoing it from scratch thinking I had made some mistake. I just ended up with a bunch of 27/83 pairs near the bottom and some other unresolved pencil marks along the left side. This is the first hunt that I'm attempting so I didn't realize that the letters were part of the puzzle. You saved me a lot of frustration :D

2022-02-15 18:49:50 +0000 UTCThis was a lot of fun I finally was able to finish one of these.
2022-02-15 09:26:08 +0000 UTCi had the same until i realised each letter must represent a unique number. For the sandwich, this means the number in each cell spelling sandwich must be different. In cases with a repeat letter, those cells must contain the same number (eg the two cells with S in chess must be the same )
2022-02-15 06:55:53 +0000 UTCI got multiple valid solutions on the sandwich :(
2022-02-15 00:00:16 +0000 UTCYes, clink on the web link. At the top of the web page when it opens is the name SudokuPad. Click the name and it will bring you to the app and ask if you want to save the puzzle there.

2022-02-14 06:59:18 +0000 UTCI agree. I missed that on the sandwich puzzle and then the chess one is not really solvable without applying the letter clues.
2022-02-14 04:13:51 +0000 UTCMy thanks to the commenters who pointed out how to disambiguate the sandwich puzzle solution. I spent hours on it before I thought to check here. I do think the instructions could have been a bit more helpful in that regard; I had interpreted them to apply only to the word that one had to find not as an essential clue for solving a couple of the puzzles.

2022-02-12 22:00:52 +0000 UTCWow, the chess one was really something.
2022-02-12 20:42:04 +0000 UTCOkay, that helps a lot--thanks!
2022-02-12 18:12:19 +0000 UTCI just fished the chess one. Yeah!!! Now on to miracle

2022-02-12 07:12:13 +0000 UTCNo. The letters are unique to each puzzle. Remember to write them down somewhere so you use them to solve the final challenge

2022-02-11 19:02:47 +0000 UTCI'm a new subscriber and a little unclear on how the hunt works. Are the puzzles connected somehow, like via the letters? Like if an E is 3 in one puzzle, is it 3 in all of them? Thanks.
2022-02-10 16:46:15 +0000 UTCI am giving the QAS puzzle hunt a go. I am still learning all the tricks and feel that these might be more approachable. So far I finished the classic and am working on the chess one.

2022-02-09 22:51:44 +0000 UTCFinally finished the adventure with my 8 year old... it's been a looong but fulfilling journey :)
2022-02-09 17:56:16 +0000 UTCI’ve just sent my entry off… first time I’ve managed to get through one of these puzzle hunts (to be fair, my only other attempts have been at the pyramid and Star Wars hunts!). Quite pleased with myself!
