Patreon Puzzle No. 2 (May 2019)

This month we weren't sure what sort of puzzle to create but, given the general popularity of Sandwich Sudoku (aka Between 1&9 Sudoku) we thought we would give you another one of those. As usual, $3 (and above) patrons will receive a video on how to solve this puzzle in the coming days.
A quick reminder of the rules for this puzzle: Normal sudoku rules apply but digits outside the grid refer to the total of all cells sandwiched between the 1 and the 9 in the respective row/column.
This puzzle was created by Mark and the video is by Simon. Simon rates this puzzle as 8/10 for difficulty.

It took me a while to realise I needed to switch back from normal sudoku to arithmetic and find the 5-6 pair in column 9. It certainly would be helpful to mark each sum once you've used it as Simon says towards the end. I'm looking forward to trying the new software...
2019-05-21 16:30:00 +0000 UTCI managed to complete the puzzle in about 45 minutes. Maybe I'm actually learning something from this show
