The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy: Sudoku Hunt

Enjoyed the hunt! A bit late on account of Life, the Universe, and/or Everything, but at least I got to it eventually :) Was pleased to backsolve a certain killer cage total, though it wasn't too useful to accelerating the solve.

Any chance of getting a hint for solving the clues to the final puzzle here for those of us not on Discord, now that the hunt is over?

First time joining. I managed to get the 1st puzzle done. and I think that i understand how it impacts the final puzzle, but these next 2 are challenging

My first hunt and finally made all 4. Wonderful puzzles, the Heart of Gold nearly broke me because of my own idotism :D. But I loved it, waiting for the next one :)

2 degree of freedom :)

I have the same problem, puzzle 1 and 3 are doable but no 2 … I just got the tenth digit of the arrow and a 3 degree of freedom for the oneth digit. I give up after 3 hours of whatching at it. It would be great if anybody could give a hint where to look at.

Do you have to be a puzzle hunt master to decipher how to use the orange pills in the 3 puzzles? Puz 1, two pills each w/ 1 number in them. Puz 2, 1 large pill w/ 2 numbers in it & another pill w/ just one number in it. Puz 3 a pill that's just in the top corner of one cell. It doesn't appear that I'm supposed to put those numbers into the final grid bc if I do it break Sudoku rules. I always enjoy these hunts but I'm 0/3 on figuring out how the early puzzles work w/ the final one.

It's common in puzzle hunts for the some of the rules to be left for discovery. One very common tool is to covert numbers into letters of the alphabet, and build a clue from that.

I see this comment a lot, but this is my first puzzle hunt and I have no idea what that means. It seems like the purple highlighting is important but I don't understand how they relate to the subsequent puzzles. The puzzle instructions are void of instructions. A little help?

I feel like I'm making a misunderstanding or mistake somewhere here in the second puzzle. I solved the first and third without too much trouble but I have a single digit in the second one and can't make it any further.

If you use them in the right way, they will give you an important rule for the last puzzle.

Do the pills mean something? My first Hunt, I'm lost as hell hehehe

Did you use the hint coming from the previous puzzles?

I think you should use the Discord for that

ok either ive read the rules for the last one wrong, or Im mssing something. Ive written down what I think are all combinations of x times y equals a two digit number - but have managed to rule out every one of them from the 4 overlapping 2x2 areas
