March Reward Sudoku: The 7 Wonders of the World

Hello Patreons,

Thanks for your continued support for us. We are delighted to present our March reward puzzle, called The 7 Wonders of the World.  Many thanks to Elias, our latest competition winner for help in testing, and to Melvyn Mainini for help with design!

Remember that working out how to apply the hints and solve the puzzles, especially the final one in this case, is part of a sudoku hunt. Please don't discuss aspects of the hunt here which could act as spoilers - there will be an opportunity in the puzzle-hunt channel on the Discord server (https://discord.gg/BbN89j5) to discuss such aspects - with appropriate spoiler concealment!

There is no prize for the solution, but you can send it (a 7-letter word) to crackingthecryptic@gmail.com if you want. We will undertake to credit successful solvers in videos in some way, though this hunt is certainly not our hardest yet, so there may be a few!

Have fun,

Simon & Mark

Incredible puzzles. The Christ the Redeemer puzzle was super difficult for me. I fiddled with some logic with the ones for about 30m before finding the path forward.

Thanks for that and thanks for all the puzzles. They have kept me going through this endless lockdown.

One or two, but yours was definitely the best 'wrong reason'!

Cracking The Cryptic

Hello Mark, yes, I can see that now. I got all my letters from the "Petra" puzzle and didn't think to look at "Taj Mahal". Did anyone else get the right answer for the wrong reason?

That's very clever, and I'm glad it works, but it wasn't the intent. The circle was a reference to the Taj Mahal puzzle in which similar circles appeared, one of them on the 1 which was represented by M. Mark

Cracking The Cryptic

The circle is a zero and changes C (100) to M(1000)
