Welcome to the May NotACast update! In our recurring monthly update, we'll provide you all with our monthly update, welcome new patrons, let you all know what's on our schedule, link to where you can find all our patreon episodes and open up the forum for you all to let us know how we're doing or just speak your mind!

And we'll talk about the start of our patreon-only series on TWOW, The Forsaken! So, keep reading!

BUT FIRST, TAXES

We assume you probably come and read these posts to see all the amazing new patrons who've joined up in April (IT WAS A LOT!), get links to bonus episodes, etc. But we need to start by sharing some news. Patreon informed us yesterday that starting on July 1st, 2020, they will begin collecting sales taxes from most US patrons and 17 other countries.

What this means in effect is that your individual state's sales tax will be tacked onto your donation amount each month. So, for instance, if you live in Maryland, you will be charged a 6% sales tax on your donation level.

Here's the breakdown of who and how this will impact everyone:

For US patrons, here's what patreon is indicating:

We know that these are tough times for a lot of folks, and we're thankful for all of you supporting us. If you need to pause or cancel your patronage because of the added financial burden these new taxes will impose on you and your families, we completely understand. Take care of yourselves and know we're incredibly grateful for all past, present and future patrons.

We'll be sending out a detailed message next month as we'll learn some more about this coming at the end of this month and some ways we can maybe work to mitigate or off-set some of the tax burden.
