Excellent episode, as always. Although I think you mixed up things a bit when it comes to the magic denouement (I will not check spelling on this). The final chapters of AGOT and ACOK, as you correctly note, are magical. Stoneheart though is the Epilogue, whereas the last ASOS chapter is Sansa VII, not magical at all. In ADWD, the last chapter - paralleling AGOT - is very magical, with Dany claiming blood, fire and Drogon, whereas the Epilogue is secular. I find it difficult to trace a direct throughline from "last chapters" here; I'd rather propose that the ENDING of each book (as the last chapters en bloc) usually provide a sort of magical conclusion. I don't know, though, how much of this is due to good authors providing some sort of closure at the end of books. Anyway, this is a very minor quibble.

It's wild to think that 20 months have past since you began this one, true, chapter-by-chapter analysis. It's been a pleasure. I'm reflecting back on the book and your achievement of reaching this milestone and I think what I most appreciate (beyond the in-depth, intelligent discourse) is that I get to hear two friends discuss something they love so much with each other and for the respect and love you have for one another. Our world is such a troubled place and the internet can be such a toxic reflection of fear and hatred. I appreciate that the NotaPodcast and it's community is a positive one, built on respect and the shared love of a series that has enriched all our lives. Congratulations and onwards and upwards for 'A Clash of Kings'!
