Chapter 874 : Big Bad Iwa Ninja!

‘Rensui… A promising ninja who became an Elite Jounin at the age of 18… Never heard of him before, but it makes sense why Roshi tried so hard to save him. A shame he didn't treasure his life as much as the other Iwa ninjas did. Still, it was good luck to get him as a hostage, not that it would have made much of a difference. Even with him as the bait, I still couldn't hurt Roshi…’ The young man thought as he finally turned away from the explosion and looked to his right to see several lightning spears headed towards him.

He flickered as he thought, ‘Oh well, Roshi isn't my target either. So, it doesn't matter. My real target must be infuriated by now. It should be fun, hehehe!’

“Die you motherfucking asshole!” The Iwa Jounin continued to curse as he launched a barrage of lightning spears at the young man. Unfortunately, the young man was too quick for his attacks to land. He launched more lightning spears at the young man's new position and shouted, “Pay for what you did to my brother!”

The young man continued to effortlessly dodge his attacks and even found the time to reply, “What I did? I was eating dumplings. You cowards ganged up on me! It was your stupid decision that killed your brother. Don't blame me for your stupidity and ill manne…!”

He had to cut his speech short as another Iwa ninja sneak attacked him with the Earth Release: Flying Thrown Stones jutsu. A multitude of rocks flew at the young man from his left, forcing him to flicker again. He appeared in a different position and continued, “See, that's what I mean by ill-manne… Hmm?”

He suddenly turned his head and saw in the direction in which the rocks were flying. His eyes captured a small figure. He disappeared from his position, making another barrage of attacks from Iwagakure ninjas pointless. However, they were surprised to see him appear in the line of attack of the jutsu he dodged previously.

Genshirou suddenly realized, ‘Is he?’

Just as one of the rocks was about to hit a scared and crying 6-year-old boy, the young man appeared and blocked the rock, saving the little kid's life. Ignoring the angry group of Iwa ninjas targeting him, the young man bent down slightly and asked with a smile on his face, “Are you alright, little one?”

The little boy barely controlled his tears but before he could answer, he heard a loud shout!
“DIE!” The Iwa Jounin, who lost his brother, shouted as his chakra flared!
Genshirou's eyes widened and he shouted, “Kouga, wait!”

Unfortunately, Kouga was too lost in rage and launched a powerful Lightning beam without caring for the little boy from Iwagakure. The powerful beam hit that spot and exploded, creating a small crater in the road with cracks spreading from it for several feet. However, there was no sign of any dead body anywhere near that hole.

The young man appeared with the little boy around 40 meters away. The boy was too scared to mutter anything and clutched the young man's arm, afraid to let go. The young man ruffled his hair and consoled, “It's fine. You're safe now. Run into that shop and hide with the others there. I'll punish that big bad Iwa ninja for you!”

The young boy immediately ran in the direction he pointed. Even though he was safe, the sight confused the shit out of Iwa ninjas. They couldn't make sense of why the young man would put himself at risk to save the life of a little boy, especially after he killed 13 ninjas without hesitation inside the restaurant.

Only Genshirou had a bad feeling. He observed around and realized, ‘Even though the civilians escaped from my restaurant and warned others, not everyone could escape easily. People are still hiding in the shops, and several saw Kouga attacking a helpless child while the young man acted as a hero…
Does he simply not want innocent civilians to be affected by his actions? Or, is he trying to influence public opinion? However, what sort of impact can he have by doing so at such a small scale?’

Genshirou couldn't figure out the answer. However, his bad feeling had intensified. He observed the young man and thought, ‘Who is this young man? I thought he was from Akatsuki, but that doesn't seem likely now. He is playing around with us instead of targeting Roshi… What is his goal for infiltrating the village?’

Genshirou turned his gaze to his right. He wasn't the only one, nearly everyone in the vicinity saw in that direction. The dust due to the explosion around Roshi had cleared. The Iwa ninjas breathed a sigh of relief and became nervous at the same time as they saw a massive chakra construct resembling the Four Tails with Roshi floating inside its head.

Roshi glanced at the young man and analyzed, ‘His talking style, his strength, his speed and his Juinjutsu, all resemble Suzuki Fujin. However, he hasn't used a single Wind jutsu yet. Instead, he forced me into this form by only using Earth jutsus while facing dozens of other ninjas. Is he Fujin or did I misjudge?’

Roshi had seen how terrifying Fujin's fighting prowess was first-hand. He did not doubt that the Iwa ninjas wouldn't have survived so long against Fujin. Had Fujin been targeting him, he would have killed everyone else in a matter of seconds and targeted Roshi right after he was caught in the explosion. It was the perfect time to bombard Roshi with Vacuum Bullets. Yet, that hadn't been the case, which made Roshi doubt his previous speculation.

Roshi thought, ‘Irrespective of who it is, he has to pay the price. Killing a promising youngster like Rensui can't go unpunished. We would become a joke if that happened…’

Roshi moved at a quick speed towards the young man while thinking, ‘I don't think I can kill him, at least not without resorting to the Tailed Beast Bomb. Unfortunately, I can't use that here. Luckily, I don't have to do it myself. I just have to ensure he doesn't kill any more ninjas in the next few seconds, and that he doesn't run away.’

Seeing the massive chakra construct charging at him, the young man cursed under his breath, “First attacking a traveler without any provocation, then attacking an innocent child and now running through such a crowded area in his Tailed Beast Form. I didn't expect the ninjas in Iwagakure to have zero regard for human life! Such a shame!”

Even though his voice was soft, every cowering civilian in the vicinity heard him clearly. Strangely, none of the Iwa ninjas, including Roshi, heard his words.

“Don't get in Roshi's way! Keep an eye on their fight and sneak attack that man when he's distracted. Kouga, don't act irrationally any more! Not only will you lose your life, but you'll endanger us too. That man is a rank S ninja! You are no match for him! The ones who just arrived, that man is the cause of all this!” Genshirou ordered loudly. Their group was reinforced by dozens of nearby Iwa ninjas. Genshirou didn't want to see them losing their lives pointlessly.

The young man maintained his attention towards Roshi while thinking, ‘Kouga, eh? Your life will be interesting. For now though…’

‘Lava Release: Scorching Rocks jutsu’
‘Earth Style: Spear Hell jutsu’

Roshi spat out lava, which quickly solidified into boulders and moved towards the young man at a high speed. However, spears rose from the ground once again and impaled those boulders, stopping them in their tracks.

The Iwa ninjas immediately sprung into action and attacked right when Roshi was distracting their enemy. Unfortunately, before any of their attacks could reach him, the earth spears exploded once again. Unlike the previous time, the explosion wasn't random. Instead, sharp rocks shot at high speeds towards the Iwagakure ninjas. They easily broke through any jutsus they launched before threatening them directly!

Luckily, they had already seen the spears explode. Several Iwa ninjas used the Earth Wall jutsu and raised several layers of wall to protect themselves. The stones pierced through several walls but failed to hurt any Iwa ninja.

However, it didn't matter, for the young man didn't care about them. He slammed his hands on the ground once again and laughed, “Roshi! If you want to kill me, you better bring out the Tailed Beast bomb like last time!”
‘Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld’

The ground under Roshi suddenly turned into a swamp. It failed to have much effect on him due to the chakra construct around him, but Roshi understood that this was in preparation for the follow-up attack. He quickly concentrated his chakra and spewed green flames at the young man, forcing him to immediately move.

Despite the scale of the jutsu, the young man once again demonstrated marvellous agility and dodged it once again. Despite exchanging so many blows, the Iwa ninjas had failed to land a single hit on him so far. He kept dodging until Roshi couldn't sustain the attack any more.

He was about to counterattack when he suddenly faltered and glanced behind. His eyes immediately widened.

‘Dust Release: Atomic Dismantling jutsu!’
