Random Poll #10 : Is no Romance cool?

I'll be honest here. According to my initial plans, I was planning for Fujin to find a partner post the Fourth Great Ninja War. There wouldn't have been much romance, but he wouldn't be alone like Kakashi/Guy. That said, I had new ideas for an ending, which is probably much cooler than my initial plans. However, romance would be unlikely if I go down that route.
So, I wanted to know whether you guys would be cool if I don't include romance, assuming I maintain the quality of the story.
PS: The result of this poll won't be binding on me. If the answer is yes and I have ideas where romance improves the quality of the story, I'll do that and vice versa. Regardless, would like to know your thoughts.

Id personaly really enjoy fujin getting some form of romance if he doesn't end up imortal or ethereal in some way but even if he dose... moon mom is always an option... just sayin...

If the pace/tone stays exactly the same throughout the story, it starts to get dull, no matter what an author writes. So Iâm indifferent about romance, so long as you find other ways to switch up the pace of the story

If someone says hoka/renjiro they are too weak right now to be seen as equals in a world where strentgh prevails and fujin only respects the strong. Its also hard to understand why fujin didnt go rogue from a village he has no more benefits to gain afterall the will of fire is a joke to him. Finally the most important thing is to give fujin a big reason to be loyal to konoha and i think people want him in a relationship to tie him to the village. What reason could be better you ask? Well for starters make Hiruzen and Shikaku scheme in the background to keep fujin in the village, they obviously dont deny his will of fire but with the recent chapter where tsunade asked hiruzen that fujin doesnt seem interested in the village she could force shikaku and Hiruzen to make sure fujin stays which would be hilarious because fujin messed up hiruzen's retirement yet again and shikaku will be dragged by old man hiruzen into his doom :)

Fujin is alone because he doesnât want to get hurt but Fang Yuan is alone because he is willing to sacrifice any chance of a relationship, morals, anything, for his dream. The last thing Fujin would do is risk his life, but thatâs the first thing Fang Yuan would do if he saw a glimpse of immortality.

It would also be pretty interesting to see him try to keep the love interest alive during the 4th great ninja war while also juggling with all his plans. Perhaps she even finds some of his hidden secrets or something and needs to keep her mouth shut or accidentally spills the beans and then their is tension between Tsunade and Fujin, anyway theyâre a lot interesting things you could do if you want to mix it up.

Iâm just thinking since hex wants to speed up the pace of the story that doing a 20 chapter romance plot might not be ideal.

I actually donât mind this as I think it still makes some sense for his character at this point in the story, but in my mind if he remains this way, it would be kind of unfulfilling/unsatisfying. Itâs awesome to see a character that youâve been with for so long change and become more âcomplete,â and I think romance is one of many reliable tools that can be used for that purpose. Basically, I donât think it necessarily HAS to be romance, so long as there is something else that changes Fujinâs character to make him more âhumanâ. Regardless, great job so far Hex, and I know that whatever direction you take us, itâs gonna be a whole lot of fun đ.

What IF (emphasis on the if) Fujin backtracks Obito to find where he hid all those sharingan from the massacred uchihas? He gets a "peculiar feeling" from looking at certain pair; which IF he transplants (emphasis on the if) and it's mieko's with her some of her chakra and her soul sticking around in purgatory. This sets up a way to get a DMS later down the line.

Like back when Mieko was crushing on Fujin, I always felt that it changed things up a bit, and added a litl smtn. Itâd also be cool to get some more screentime for a likeable character that had a closer connection to MC.

2025-02-12 23:41:37 +0000 UTCMan, having NaruHina in this story will make me feel what happens with many stories that I enjoy but NaruHina always has to be alone because yes, those two simply do not combine as they should be because Sakura, Hinata and Ino were written as fans / admirers of x, in Sakura the typical change of feeling was attempted, in Hinata to see beyond the admired person, and Ino simply someone else who took another path, example 666 Satan where the Naruto characters basically have their counterparts. 2025-02-12 23:23:56 +0000 UTCThat made me think of Fanfic reincarnated as Madara in the world of Avatar, where it seems that the Mc, is kind of planning his life in the long term, and it is something in his world with his power, but he also has a dynamic with a subordinate where in the end when she is already at a certain age she recognizes the attraction but she does not want commitment, but it does not mean that they can enjoy it, and they enter into a dynamic of friends with benefits, but it seems like in the movies where they really do not just stay as friends with benefits, because they both know how important they are to each other. creating something cute and at the same time hot XD. The joke at the end of "Madara the Oldest Virgin" also came to mind, which I think is even real in the world of Naruto. Although it is always curious how characters are usually someone's son, but they do not have children of their own, like the case of Guy, if Duy has a son why not Guy, I can understand something about Kakashi, but come on, some had children and others did not just because, Kiba single as if it were nothing (not if the Cat girl is counted as no), Shibo being heir of the clan must have a son, it is obvious, Rock lee has a son but the mother does not exist and tenten is simply alone. It is something that I do not know how to think, more than laziness to not draw so many children, which is almost always what happens after the post war.

2025-02-12 23:19:35 +0000 UTCRomance is something that always brings its things, especially in stories where it is not the focus, for me the simple works, and not complex attempts that lead to nothing, the original Naruto material demonstrates that, Dan and Tsunade, Jiraija and Tsunade, Minato and Kushina, Shikamaru and Temari, are examples of tragedy, regret of thinking about it too late, a love story, and credible that it happened. And even things like Ino Sai, it's a raise of the eyebrow, but it works, but then there's the Hina Naru (something that is only possible because the script says so, and her training itself is questionable for it to happen, let's say that the statements that it was planned, are nothing more than cable collection, before a fandom, a studio, and the situation of the author, they wanted to make a sequel, otherwise The Last Retcon, would not exist), and the Sasu Saku (statically desired by female fans, desired by the contempt of those who hate Sakura, it's something sad and that the melodrama that was taken out about who is Sarada's real mother indicates a sad situation, sold as a comedy about Sakura's family), This is ultimately what makes any fic where the NaruHina or Sasusaku, not convincing unless it is a fan of the couple and the only thing you like is that they are together, because the arguments used to put them together are either unconvincing or bad to put them together making couples of the Other companions look better. For me, romance brings humanity, and in many cases support and comfort, from which to move forward. I know the fear that romance can ruin something, but many times it is because that romance does not seek to be more than a point to fill, and only tries to copy scenarios that for the story that is sometimes carried, do not match. I am on the side of two paths of romance at least in stories like the calamity of the twentieth a couple that interacts a bond (preferably a character already exists) and play with it, they can be interactions where the personalities coincide or clash for the light joke, a pleasant companion in the journey of life. The path of a couple for the epilogue is not bad either, since at least Fujin has elements of having a clan to form, and inheriting his life in Konoha, and continuing in his old age to explore the theme of his transmigration, it is not romance properly it is more just a "the protagonist is not alone", it is like that of fulfilling wishes in life. Which to be honest also resonates with Calamity of the Wind. Or a fun couple dynamic, or an epilogue where the MC feels fulfilled although curious about the world he came to.

That compliments him. In a way he is alone in this world, a relationship two becomes one. Maybe a political marriage wouldnât be out of the question. Seems like he acts the part of a friend while internally he keeps them at a distance, might just be my own perception. Also would be nice to see something that isn't just about getting stronger for the sake of getting stronger, to me at least he seems to have no motive other than to stay alive, where now he is more than strong enough to safeguard his own life and now he is just gaining strength for strengths sake with no real motivation making it feel a bit hollow.

"He been out of the village for a couple of months now and has greatly improved his techniques while exploring dangerous regions and taking on mythical like creatures. During one of his encounters, because of his extremely enhanced charka reserves he got cocky while taking on this particular monster wanting to test a new technique he developing with his enhanced reserved. He underestimated the strain his techniques put on his body and strained his cells. He's whisked away in a fight with a powerful creature leaving his fate unknown only to wake up and find himself in a small clan hidden from the world where he's nursed back to health by a gentle, caring, yet teasing, fearless, and opinionated young women who chastises his choices that landed him in his current predicament. while being nursed back he enjoys her company along with the amenities the village has to offer only to realize how blinded he's been by his thirst for improvement. he take his time now truly enjoying the sites of what he's exploring while also enjoying her company. Making him realize how truly alone/homesick he had been and now wanting someone to express his joys, stresses, accomplishments and worries he accumulated after coming to this world." This is very wordy and kind of vague but a great author like you can probably understand what I'm going for here. Anyway its just an idea to introduce a a non cannon character that matches fujins personality type if you do go a romance route. hope it helps if any

Have a social circle. Maybe more interactions with Naruto or the main cast itâs crazy to me that fujin is Narutoâs big brother figure but didnât seek him out when sasuke disappeared or tell him heâs leaving with jiraiya I would at least expect Naruto to ask fujin for help or training. I guess the tldr is I prefer fujin to be more human if that takes the form of a significant other then so be it. Also with fujinâs personality anyone that became romantically involved with him would be hilarious especially if it was a political marriage.

I'm on the side of wanting to see a idealistic romance, as i think that it would only add to the story as there isn't a down side to his character development or the story. While i can appreciate the notion someone people here have that romance seems to ruin stories, this just doesn't fit that narrative. this novel while 800+ chapters in can only be said now to have reached a half way point in its story so the individuals who deny the option of romance because "its too late in the story" really just don't want to admit they don't want to see romance with the main character and while i don't agree with that, part of me gets it. This story has been almost a wet dream to anyone who ever day dreamed of being reborn/reincarnated into the ninja world. With an almost edgy, cool as a cucumber, power hungry, tactician-like, and goal driven main character, he encapsulates the feeling of nothing to something while also now feeding into the overpowered narrative with his unique Justus, summons, and techniques that would drive any young man who enjoyed the story of Naruto to assimilate themselves to his character. For most people who regularly read light novels or fanfics, i think we all have had a story we enjoyed almost or completely be ruined by forced romance narratives and/or harems that just make the story feel like soft core porn. Theses instances of bad story development truly kill the "fantasy" narrative that was enjoyed and most likely the reason we stuck to the stories in the first place, but just as I've had my bad stories, I've had my good ones that have added romance and it only enhances my love for the story/main characters because the truth is while most of these stories are based in "fantasy" there is always one thing that keep them based in "reality" and that's humans. you can add whatever you want to your fantasy world but as long as there are humans in the story, we are going to treat them as humans of reality and the reality is that the vast majority of people don't want to be alone. we need relationships based in companionship and or romance because its in our nature. its proven in the very fact that the original story of Shippuden ended in romance. while some argue that the romances between certain characters were forced, i don't think many would agree that it ruined the ending of at least Shippuden. Personally I think the romances and relationships added a happy/complete narrative to the ending which would have otherwise been one in severe loss and dissatisfaction after the war. In summary, Hex if you decide to go a route without romance, while i will be disappointed as it denies one of the very natures of being human, I'm not gonna be one of those guys that say it will ruin the story for me. You've done an excellent job of keeping pace, sticking to the narrative the main character has displayed in his actions since the earliest chapters, while also adding to an already completed story and developing it to accommodate the variable that is fujin. I know what ever you do decide to do, it will be thoroughly developed and thought out to keep us engaged and wanting to the next chapter. Keep it up! Can't wait to see how the story develops from here

Other may want it, out of wanting a change, curiosity or to see how you handle romance, but i can assure you most of your readers aren't ready to see romance 800+ chapters late onto your fanfic. Romance doesn't destroy most story because writers don't know how to write it. Romance destroy story because writers would try it after their novel got onto its comfort zone where the fanbase is used to things. In these setting, everything would fall apart next.

In my case, I don't want it because it brings back bad memories of a fanfiction that had a harem, and together with another trope I hate (cultivation), it made me so disgusted that I don't want to read that kind of content in any other work.

I also donât see any female character from his generation in Konoha that can be good pair for him right now. He is just too well known. I donât remember if his face is known in other villages or not, if not then maybe someone from other village like kurotsushi? If heâs face is well known the best option for him would be creating OC somewhere in the east.

It is another facet to add to a character and since it isn't the focus you can make it just happy or whatever, you don't need to explore all aspects of a relationship. That being said, I've read plenty of good novels that don't have romance and they are good for it. I've also read good novels that try to stuff it in and suffer for it. Don't let this poll sway you and do what is right for the story, don't write it based on our wants and needs. Write it based on what's best for the story, ignore us lol.
