Metallic Dragon Painting - WIP
Added 2017-12-13 03:36:51 +0000 UTCWIP of a Lineless Painting that I'm currently working on! This piece features a metallic silver dragon - the first I've not only just had the pleasure of drawing, but doing a Painting of, as well!
I'm calling it a night at this phase - colors and background will be added tomorrow! Will take another look at the current underlay with a fresh set of eyes in the morning, as well.
I've been realllllly excited to start this, and thinking A LOT about how to render the metallic effects - I'm really happy with how the shades and highlights have turned out! I took every opportunity of free time I had to study examples and photographs of metallic objects, from spheres to jewelry to knight's armor, to get a better understanding of how the reflectivity would best look on a creature.
I'm verrrry excited to work on the colors as well! Since he's a 100% silver dragon, he presents a great opportunity for me to play a lot with how the light and background colors will interact with him.
