Misc. Sketches
Added 2023-11-23 05:58:20 +0000 UTCIt's been almost a year! I've been posting some personal art elsewhere, mostly tabletop stuff in batches on Newgrounds, but I've been utterly silent here since I felt I didn't have much to post. Here's the sketches I hadn't posted elsewhere.
For those interested, here's the long story:
I've been alluding to working on something for quite a while and that's part of why I've been so quiet otherwise. I worked on various demos and tests from the middle of last year going into this one, but none of them grabbed me in the way I was hoping (though I did preview one of them in August of last year). I moved on to a visual novel project and got a good way in before I felt it needed some more time in the conceptual oven. I won't be posting most of that, since I like it enough that I want it kept in the can in case I use it later. Doing it was good practice, though.
On the personal end, I've had chronic migraines all my life but have finally found a treatment method that works well for me. I've been feeling much better. That's been a huge help for obvious reasons.
So that's most of what's been occupying me. But it brings me to what I'm actually working on.
My Current Project
For the last couple months I planned and then began work on Mistcrown, a fantasy visual novel that makes heavy use of comic panels. For those that remember them, t's similar to the kinetic Flash comics I've done, though it takes advantage of a VN's ability for prose and dialogue.
The first chapter is done as far as writing, backgrounds, and panels go. I just need to finish some portraits in the next couple days and touch up the UI and the like. I'll be making another post with some preview images and sketches of what I've been working on.
