Lutris 0.5.9 released!

We're very pleased to announce the release of Lutris 0.5.9! This release brings some new features to take Linux as a gaming platform to the next level...

Thanks to the progress made with Wine and DXVK in the past years, some features are no longer necessary. In this release, we have removed options related to WineD3D registry keys, X360CE and Gallium9 integration. The removal of those options doesn't prevent the use of any of those components but they might require some manual work to setup.

In the next few months, we'll be focusing on making Lutris ready for the Steam deck. We plan releasing a controller friendly UI made with the Godot game engine which will not only be a great fit for the Deck but also for your home made game console!

Thank you, Lutris Team! Having dabbled in Linux off and on for...quite a few years, I finally decided to go full in with Manjaro on my home machine last fall; no more of that 'paneful' other operating system, in a boot select environment. With productivity programs all set, I set about getting entertainment up and running on my computer. Lutris now runs three of my absolute favorites - the Discovery Tour series (Assassin Creed standalone education games) on Ubisoft Connect/Uplay. I am tremendously grateful for all of your efforts on Lutris, so I have become a Patreon to show that appreciation. Thank you all very, very much.

The next lutris version will have fixes for the problems you mentioned :) Also, I'd like to give the option to install either Linux or Windows versions for Humble Bundle and GOG so in order to do that, we'll have to make the platform explicit.
