I want to try a harvest moon esque icon for the LI's affections. So the roses will change color based on the affection level you have with them. Black means that love has withered or you have chosen another lover and have been caught. Unlike Ignians, the people you will be romancing in Royal Blood will mostly be more monogamous and will be less forgiving if you kiss another man.

Fun fact, you can actually kiss all the boys in BS and date them all the same time. Yes, they are aware of it and actually talk to each other about it and compare. A scene which I didn't get to incorperate in the game was legitimately of the boys talking about what happened between you and the MC so far. Arshem would be jealous and competitive for your affections, Thane would be more interested in getting everyone into a foursome and Quill will be sulky as he wonders what he lacks, while Lyall will be more culture shocked and asks if that's just how people date (it is in Ignia). Overall they still wish each other luck as it is your choice and you never said to either of them you were exclusive. Once you do however, some LI's will comment about it, usually Quill or Arshem. Thane and Lyall will be indifferent as Lyall is too insecure to receive love and Thane leans more to poly due to avoiding soulmates being ingrained in his culture.

I always imagined that due to soulbonding being their world's only true sign of partnership, most Ignians fool around with each other. They assume if their partner doesn't ask for a soulbond then it's not entirely serious yet and by default look around for other partners while dating you. Hence why there is a lot of cheating in the school and love dramas lol
