2023-11-27 15:38:15 +0000 UTCIf the mom told the director that she knew about his powers then she would’ve failed . The point was to see if he loved her enough to tell her and she loved him enough to keep it a secret .

2023-11-08 17:59:13 +0000 UTCI think the plane scene was there to emphasize that Doosik is a "humanist", just like a lot of this episode: he went rogue to try and save a planeful of people from getting killed, he chooses to disarm and not outright kill people to give them a chance to get treated, he let go of the suspected NK spies instead of gunning them all down as ordered, etc. This episode intends to build on that, I think. 🤔

2023-11-08 06:45:57 +0000 UTCDirector Min wanted Doosik and Mihyun to get close so that when the Director gave Doosik the mission, he would have a reason to come back and report instead of hiding. Doosik found Mihyun's house bcos of her purple curtains and if u rmb in ep2 Mihyun painted the roof purple and had a huge Namsan Donkatsu sign in the hopes that he might see it and come back.

2023-11-07 22:51:42 +0000 UTCKim Doo-sik's mission was to assassinate Kim Il-sung (N.K. leader) in order to sour relations between the two Koreas, but as he instead died of a heart attack, this did not obtain the desired effect that Director Min wanted. Which is to cause tension between two Koreas, because as long as there is an enemy to fight, secret organization will have a reason to exist. If you pay attention to headlines of the newspapers that Min always reads, all of them are about North and South Korea normalizing relations, and Min doesn't want that for the reasons mentioned above. Hence why when he got the news he was like "why does it say heart attack, and not assassination?". And that is why he is looking for Doosik, bc he wants an explanation for what happened in North.

Anah!
2023-11-07 20:41:33 +0000 UTCLast comment because I think you guys missed some stuff in the earlier episodes: Remember why he wanted her to get close to him. He (Min) was paying attention to all the reports of reunification between the North and South and he wanted some kind of operation regarding the north. In this episode, the leader of NK died and Doosik is missing so his concern now is, “Did he get caught over there and what can he tell them about us, our operation, and our involvement.” The airplane thing wasn’t a mission. Min said that was Doosik acting on his own. Remember the Sa-ra woman assumed that was the failed mission Min was referring to and he said it wasn’t. Doosik was acting alone. The failed mission he was referring to, which we didn’t know at the time but now do, is the Seagull Operation where he let those informants go. As far as why they wanted to kill ex Black-op agents, think of it as an arms race. Each country wants to be the only one with the best weapons and they’re all spying on each other to see who has what and how powerful they are. It’s why Frank is instructed to ask about the kids of the agents before he kills them. (Think back to the conversation between Min and the US counselor who he called out for actually being CIA). Everything I wrote here comes from the prior episodes. I think if you just have a clearer handle on those things you might be less confused going forward and enjoy the reveals to come. Buckle up. Side-note: I love how much Bong-seok is like his dad. Socially awkward, caring, does a little happy dance when he’s eating good food. A lot of his scenes with the mom mirror Bong-seok and Hui-soo.

2023-11-07 19:41:22 +0000 UTCI’m not sure if y’all really caught what director Min was saying. Not a spoiler. He said Doosik had no ties and was more than likely to just run away after a mission one day. So he wanted him to have something to come back to, he won’t run away and disappear if he knows he won’t be able to see Mihyun, hence why director made them fall in love. And the whole reason he knew he could try to hook them up was cause of Operation Seagull.

2023-11-07 19:38:49 +0000 UTCI think maybe pay more attention to the newspaper headlines and news reports that Min is consuming. I don’t think they were teasing too much, but they expect you to pick up on that kind of stuff in figuring out Min’s motivations. Also, his conversations with the woman y’all call Sa-ra are key.

2023-11-07 18:58:21 +0000 UTCI don’t know if y’all caught it but towards the end of the episode when they found out about everything, when Doosik and Juwon was at the gun range, they said “Mr. Min wants to see you” and as Doosik was leaving, he stopped behind Juwon for a couple seconds and then walked off. I just want y’all to remember that scene and catch it in case y’all didn’t. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ LOVED THE REACTION!!!

2023-11-07 18:41:22 +0000 UTCIt was like these episodes go together, so you don't miss much or forget anything 8 & 9, 10 &11, 12, 13&14, and it follows a similar pattern up to 20. Regarding the plane scene as Jeff said it was to show you that he doesn't blindly follow orders and if he can do good and try to help people he will.
