Byss, huh? No chance of maybe doing a Skywalker Saga speedrun and have Rey appear 35 years early as one of Palpatine's "failed" clones, I assume? With "failure" meaning wrong gender in Rey's case instead of her father's Force Null status from Canon, I mean...Palpatine being willing to forcefully commandeer Rey's body in The Rise of Skywalker struck me more as a move he planned on only being temporary till a better solution arose, versus finding the idea of inhabiting his own Force Sensitive granddaughter's body to be an acceptable long-term plan.

2026-02-22 01:52:42 +0000 UTCIf you had said Yavin, I would have totally backed you point..Alderaan getting to experience the full might of the first Death Star really was a huge black eye for Palpatine and the Empire. Endor was definitely a critical victory that wasn't, however, the final death blow for the Empire (as it was shown in the prior two movies) in either Legends or Canon, but the kind of all-out strike against the second Death Star wouldn't have been possible if Alderaan's destruction didn't push a lot of worlds to realize that Palpatine was willing to massacre Imperial citizens far closer to home than they had previously assumed and decided that supporting the Alliance was a more palatable solution than just hoping Palpatine didn't get the itch to point superweapons like the Death Star at them. Palpatine was still the lazy douchebag as Emperor as he was when Plagueis found him as a young adult...he just adapted to using his Force abilities to speed run stuff that needed a subtler hand.

2026-02-22 01:44:01 +0000 UTCQuite arrogant from Vader to consider Sidious incompetent. In both Legends and Canon, the Rebellion was on the ropes before Endor. And in both, even after Endor, the Empire only fell because half of it was set on fire by its leadership.
