Lara - Character Preview

My previous characters lacked established backstories, which made it difficult to form meaningful connections with them.

So in the last few weeks I have been working on the creation of a character, which probably many of you already know. It is the ever-popular and understandably often p*rn-parodied game character Lara Cr*ft!


SHAPE

The head has the original shape from the games, whereas I sculpted the body into a strong and kind of voluminous one.


TEXTURES

The textures are mostly from the SOTR game, although I scaled up the clothing textures using AI to achieve more detail.

Also, it was necessary to modify some skin textures as the game had the eyebrows baked into the textures for example.

The textures for subsuface scattering are used from other sources to achieve more realism.

To conclude, I also implemented micro details using normal maps, which extremely improves the detail density of the skin. I hope it's noticeable in the preview pics.


HAIR

Almost all the hair is now built with Blender's particle system for more realism.
However, the eyelashes still need to be built with the particle system, so the hair is not final yet.


FEATURES/CHANGES

It is my first project where I implemented a mesh with much more mesh density to create detailed shapekeys later. (see last preview picture)

Before, I sculpted detailed deformations using the multiresolution modifier, which supports no shapekeys and broke when posing the character even slightly.

That is, every time I adjusted the character's pose, I had to redo the sculpts. This often took the fun out of creating content, because at some point it just became annoying.

Even though it took me some time to find a way to increase the mesh density without destroying the mesh weights of DAZ, it will save me a lot of work in the future. I will be using this method on all my future projects from now on.


FUTURE PROJECTS

I will continue some of my older projects after the current "on the beach" story, which will find it's end soon.   

As already mentioned I switched to blender for my main 3D program for more creative freedom and efficiency, so I need to manually convert/transfer the scenes of my other stories to blender.  

This process takes a while and can get kind of complex at times so I won't resume all of them together.  

So I actually plan to start a poll soon to decide which old story should be continued after "on the beach".

Simultaneously, Lara gets the chance to shine in her own depraved story.


LARAS STORY

I thought about an exploration setting where she finds a big (really fcking big) horse d*ldo and goes wild with it.
Feel free to already suggest some additional ideas for Laras story!

Thank you for the insights into your creation. Definitely a more substantial bottom half for this Lara than was seen in SOTR - I particularly like that she has visible muscles now. Much more 'voluminous'!
