An Announcement about Upcoming Changes
Added 2019-08-08 20:56:59 +0000 UTCDear patrons,
With regret I am announcing the cancellation of tiers $10 and $20, and making small changes to the tiers $1 and $5, in the coming week.
Tier $1 will contain basic sketches and artwork before these are posted publicly, weeks or more in advance depending on backlog. The second tier will have in-progress lineart/coloring and special edited works as soon as they're completed, which will not be available elsewhere.
I sincerely apologize for not meeting expecations, and I completely understand anyone wanting to lower their pledged amount. I will be contacting tier $10 and $20 patrons privately in the near future.
(The limited 4 slot tier remains unaffected.)
When I created my patreon a few years back I miscalculated my management skillset, which was useful in my previous occupation, while I had broad expectations of my own potential. Finally being able to dedicate my life to art I had great aspirations.
Coming to face with failing to meet my calculations and expectations, as well as unexpected technical shortcomings, brought to light that my approach and expecations have to change in order to keep things fair to both me as a creator and you as my supporters going forward.
In particular, due to managing my time and workload like I was used to at a busy officejob, I ended up in a downward spiral of exhaustion and overworking. Though trying to work every hour of the day, I did not get done what I set out. Art is different from officework, so I need to approach it differently.
My aim is to learn from the disparity of output to better supply you with the content you came here for, with me developing a more professional air in regards to standards I set for myself. My first step is to change my schedule and workload, and lower my aspirations until I have a stable process. Once I have gained steady footing I will reconsider higher Patreon tiers again.
I want to draw and have good output, it is my passion, so I'm eager to make things better.
Thank you all for your continued support and care for my works. Without you I would not have been able to pursue this avenue in life.
Making my living as an artist has always been my dream, and sharing my ideas with you feels incredibly rewarding. I hope that we can keep enjoying this together, with the future only brighter.
In closing, feel free to ask questions and openly discuss this with me. This is a mutually beneficial relationship and I wish to be transparent with you all as much as possible.
Sincerely,
CBTwi
