Do you want animations in Shadows Of Ambition?

It's quite expensive getting scenes animated and unfortunately, we're not at the size yet to make that decision without properly considering it. However, I do want to provide you guys with the best experience and am happy to invest into animations.

I agree with most of this. I do think revisiting the initial content is a good idea, when I eventually plan on releasing the game on steam once it's finished, but we're still 6 chapters away from that on the minimum. I also don't want to build to a sex scene with Alice and another guy and have that be the "peak". I think the next chapter really expands the plot and story a lot, but at the end of the day, it's still an Adult VN, so of course there will be plenty of sexual encounters too.

However, what you can do, is take 2 to 3 images, and put them on loop with a delay between each one maybe with a sound to simulate an animation with just images. That would enhance visuals without having to actually do a true animation.

By today's standards, animations are almost essential unless the writing is absolutely top-tier. I also don’t think it’s a good idea to finish the game and then add animations later. Most players won’t revisit the story with the same excitement, and the experience won’t feel as impactful. To maximize their value, animations should be added during development, not after, as they’ll enhance the game for both new and current players.
