Much like the deep-sea Angler Fish, there exists a land-based plant that follows the same philosophy of luring its prey. Creatures in the deep are entranced by light, so that's what an Angler Fish provides to entice its meals.
That fish hunts other fish. The Angler plant instead hunts humans...
Human prey doesn't boast claws, fangs or other dangerous extremities. Their meat is typically rich in fat and other proteins or nutrients. However, they demand more variety in lures, due to their intelligence. To meet this demand, the Angler Plant can change which lure it grows from its stems.
Through countless eons of evolution, it's adapted a wide range of shapes and textures for its lure. Most commonly, the Angler Plant mimics gold nuggets, or even coins. On special occasions, it's known to mimic other objects of interest, such as tools... and oddly enough, holiday decorations. In this case, it's replicated a patterned Easter Egg.
The plant's DNA synchronizes to its interpretation of the human calendar. It changes its lures according to certain times of the year. This helps Angler Plants capture up to 40% more prey overall, than they would otherwise.
In this example, a very satisfied Angler Plant has ensnared itself three human girls, all rich in fatty meat, and it's about to capture a fourth.
Interested in the egg growing out of it, each girl tried inspecting the lure, and once the lure is tugged hard enough, the plant opens its subterranean "stomach" area. The given prey drops down inside, upon which the plant immediately seals itself back up again.
Once trapped inside, an Angler Plant's prey can expect to be accosted by several tentacles. Their purpose is to first subdue, then restrain by penetrating the body, from the mouth all the way to the anus, or vice versa. This impalement does not pierce or damage any of the prey's internal organs, and merely serves to clean the insides out, and restrain the body in the most effective way possible.
The tentacles also serve their purpose as a means of gathering a victim's nutrients while they're still alive. These nutrients include saliva, sweat, breast milk, sexual secretions, and all the contents of the prey's digestive tract. These substances are sucked up by a puckered opening, found on the tip of all of the tentacles.
The plant's "stomach" secretes a mild enzyme that will slowly, but surely, digest its prey over the course of a week, maybe more. Digestion is painless to the prey, owing to a numbing agent in the fluids that break their bodies down into a rich, nutritious paste.
Victims to an Angler Plant should not expect rescue. These plants choose to grow in obscure places, meant to lure only a certain amount of prey it can reasonably fit inside its digestive pit. Once full, and the lure is discarded, it looks like any other plant, almost impossible to distinguish from any others around it. The "mouth" of the pit purposefully blends in with the rest of the surrounding flora or dirt.
... Get tricked and eaten by this thing, and you're inescapably done for <3

This is a Patreon drawing for Uri :D Sadly I couldn't get this done in time for actual Easter >w<; It's my fault though, I end up obsessing over tiny details way too much. But I really hope you like it, as I most certainly had fun making it \^o^/ Tentacles and slime take longer to draw, but it's oh-so worth it 0w0
I also tried thinner linework, and I like the kind of aesthetic it can provide. Leaves more room for detail, but that probably didn't help my agonizing over small details >w> I'll keep this in mind for the future though...!
Side-note: These characters were made up on the spot, and don't intentionally resemble any existing ones c:
