Looking ahead to early 2025 plans
Added 2024-12-31 22:21:40 +0000 UTCHappy new year to all! Except anybody named Gerald.
First, I wanna quickly express my gratitude to each of you, for helping make 2024 so wonderful despite good ol' content struggles. Whether you're just joining or you've been here a while, I appreciate you putting your trust in me. (Also, come to the Discord! If your account is linked, you should already be there, but I give way more informal updates there, rather than clogging feeds here.)
I wanted to share some insight into the slate of projects I'm currently juggling for the next couple months, so you can get an idea of what's in store and what'll hit your feed in the coming weeks! These are in no particular order, with a couple exceptions that have some specific release windows:
Learning to Love the GameCube (Episode 1 of ???): Hoping this'll become a little mini-retrospective series in its own, I have a roadmap for a second episode covering some of the games/facets that I don't cover in part 1. Ep 1 includes Pikmin, Fire Emblem, Sunshine, and more. If everything goes well, this should be out within the next week.
Ape Escape Retrospective: I feel the dam finally cracking on finishing this one. This one's been stuck for a while, because every time I go back to tweak a single sentence I find 2-3 new video ideas, I swear to god. Such as:
The Hostile Madden Takeover that Built PlayStation (Super Bowl week)
Spyro Retrospective(s?) - finishing the Ratchet comp started the itch. These won't be deep dives, just game analysis.
If I actually go through with this one, this'll be in January: Majima: The Complete Story (So Far). I recorded all of Yakuza 0 to justify playing Yakuza 0 when the itch struck a few months back, so further down the road I'm going to go stupid mode and make a Yakuza retrospective.
PSP Games with PS2/3 Crossover Features. This was meant to be an easier one that I'd poop out this month, and like usually happens, I realized there was more to talk about.
Additionally, I've got an interview tentatively scheduled with the studio that does all of the PS1/2/P ports on PSN, and I want to turn that into something proper.
These are just the ones I've got actual, recent work in that I see releasing in the next few months. I have a few other projects I've talked about, that I've got some work in, but that I haven't circled back to in a bit, such as a history of Activision video, a big one on Pokemon gen 1, and the remaining Greek God of War games which I recorded and researched out of pure spite a while back (so as to not let the analytics and the Age Restriction issues on the first two demoralize me any further). I'm kind of just leaving those in the wings, so that I can dance around between projects when my brain wants to procrastinate the one I'm trying to work on. Once one of those hits another gear, they'll be out probably within that following couple weeks.

Every single one of these video ideas rules. Super stoked on these!
