2025-06-07 16:12:21 +0000 UTCThis is like a 3-hanky finale. The Bamon scene is one of my absolute favorites... He's not out of nicknames for her yet. I'm always curious to see how much doubt there is for Damon, or not, in that scene. Bonnie was worried... but our trust in Damon held true. And Damon dispatching Kai is epic. He did warn at the hospital that he was gonna start taking heads.

In real time, Nina had announced about 5 eps before the finale that she was leaving at the end of the season but she had made a deal with Julie (the producer) that she would do the series finale if Julie wanted her too but Julie was staying mum about whether there was a possibility of that or not so when she became human we all thought she was going to be killed off! Obviously the door was left open at this moment but there is still sooooo much story to tell!!!! It was soooo difficult when you were speculating about next season not to tell you she wasnβt coming back because we all knew in real time but the reaction without you knowing was just so priceless! For the record, the speculation at the time was that she left because she couldnβt work with Ian anymore - they had broken up the year before after dating for 3 1/2 years and he had starting dating Nikki Reed the summer between season 5 and 6 and they were already getting married when the season wrapped so it was getting increasing difficult to do love scenes together - the fact that she was willing to come back for the finale, if they wanted her to, was a very big deal at the time!
