Poor Logan... he's been thru the wringer and is just letting his pain lead him. I get Veronica breaking up with him. But I don't really believe she's over the LoVe. Falling back into Duncan is just a very dull, very safe choice. Which is fine in the real world, but fictionally speaking... boring. They have zero sexual chemstry, no matter how they try. To me... they funnily enough have a sibling vibe. I'm sure Teddy Dunn is a sweetheart... but his acting range is lacking. I feel like they were sort of setting up Logan as a potential bus crash suspect. (I honestly can't recall.) The way he hung around the bus to snark on Veronica & Duncan before they boarded. His "I'm going to miss you" to Veronica stood out to me. Though I believe he just really loves her and can't help himself.

2025-02-27 04:42:13 +0000 UTCIt's been almost twenty years and infinite rewatches. AND YET EVERY TIME 'ASHES' BY EMBRACE KICKS IN ALL THE AIR IS SUCKED FROM MY LUNGS! IT'S SUCH AN ICONIC MOMENT! Logan is definitely going through it, and pushing Veronica away was his mistake. Donut's fun... but LoVe is FOREVER! Ghost!Lilly to the rescue... and she led V straight to Weevil (her own personal "fallen" angel) <3 It would appear the shock of Charisma and Krysten being in Neptune, made you forget all about Tessa being in the opening titles too LOLZ Oh, bud, just two cases? It's NEVER just two cases! And they're almost never NOT connected (you just have to figure out how). Like V said... NOTHING IS ACCIDENTAL ;) Also, RIP Michelle Trachtenberg :(

2025-02-26 02:04:35 +0000 UTCI like how this episode is done with giving the background of what happened in between the seasons and starting to introduce the main cases of this season. And of course the numerous misdirects about who Veronica is actually dating, purposefully using language that could apply to either Logan or Duncan (a rich boyfriend, wondering why he would visit his father etc.). I also love the fact that despite everything Weevil came back for Veronica, despite all the disagreements he still has her back at the end of the day. And the bus crash ... Such a huge what-if moment for Veronica here. I really feel bad for Logan - yeah he is definitely not on the best path right now but after everything he's been through it's easy to see why. But as much as I like Veronica and Logan together I think she made the right choice to break up with him here - she tried to be there for him but it just didn't work. And of course more familiar faces showing up π First Willow, now Cordy, somehow Logan is just surrounded by Buffy characters one way or another.

So much happens in just this one episode... covering multiple months & relationships, Logan being blamed for Felix's death, the drug tests, the field trip, the bus. In fact, the episode was so far along... and I was like... we've still got the whole Krysten Ritter / bus trip / crash to get to. But I'm guessing the bigger shock/surprise is a certain bikini-clad entrance. π
