It's my favorite episode of the series, though amazing stuff ahead, because i love Carter and our team (and one special team-adjacent baddie) paying tribute to her in their own way.. I wouldn't have been against Careese and you could see it in Carter in the Reese is strapped to a bomb episode. Though I'm more Resse/Zoe. Jim seemed the biggest Careese shipper, mostly because he adored working with Taraji.

So I saw that improvised kiss as a sweet testament to how highly he regards her and her impact on him. (Though, based on that criteria... Reese also owes Finch a good smooch.)

It's one of those watershed moments that you both dread and anticipate. Especially because this leads into one of my absolute favorites of the series.

2025-02-24 20:54:49 +0000 UTCThis episode and the next are my two favorites of the series. I love when the entire ensemble of a show gets great material. The ending was gut wrenching but I LOVED badass Fusco and Shaw's scene saving Lee. I don't think it's a given. everyone would've been fine if Root was let go because her objective would be to help Reese and maybe get Quinn to the Fed building. Simmons very well may have slipped through the cracks to still make a move at some point. Plus, Root has giving Finch so much PTSD in the past I don't blame him for feeling he couldn't trust her. Some BTS: The Kiss remains controversial, it was never in the script it was Jim 's idea when they were having issues getting the scene right and production kept it. There's an alternative ending they filmed where it's Fusco instead of Carter at the end to throw off spoilers at the time.

I am not sure if you know but in real time Carter and Reese had a huge fanbase who wanted them together and their ship name was CaReese. When I watched this live I was like "YESSS!! We finally going somewhere!" However I started to be a bit worried when they were getting callbacks to their first meeting and then when they were talking outside I felt like it was the freaking end. Also I loved Carter character a lot this season and on this show and she is one of the originals from episode 1 so the only thing that was keeping me going when I watched this episode was literally just saying "probably she's still alive".... and who knows, time will tell. This episode devastated me and your reaction at the ending was fitting and fitting for you to be so done.... you are like the audience after this episode.
