Yeah, fighting homophobia with homophobia is very mid-2000s. But it could've been worse, like... using Seth without his knowledge. There was A LOT of "pretending" going on in this episode. It certainly doesn't look good for Logan, does it? GHB is NOT the drug you want to be handing out willy nilly (especially with budding sociopaths like Tad around). And you do have to wonder what Logan's personal use was for it that night. And it makes perfect sense to bring back that part of the story in the Revenge Porn episode. I mean, it's not like "Mr. Weed" (Clarence) lied to Alicia. Veronica did send Wallace to Kane Software to plant the Flower bug in 'Betty And Veronica', and that puts more than just her job on the line (depending on what might've been overheard... if he wasn't as good as he is at his job). Mad props to Alicia for standing her ground though! So, did you remember that V said all that in front of Donut in 'Weapons Of Class Destruction'? Because during that episode it didn't seem like you knew why Duncan up and left (but here, it dawned on you as she said it to Keith)
