If you had to pick just one, which of the Charmed One's power sets would you rather have? Prue: Telekinesis, Astral Projection Piper: Freezing, Molecular Combustion Phoebe: Premonitions, Levitation, Empathy Paige: Telekinetic Orbing, Orbing, plus various other Whitelighter abilities

2025-03-16 00:39:15 +0000 UTCYou've just uploaded the finale and what an ending! I was really happy about the girls having a happy ending. This show and its depiction of women struggling with expectations placed on them before they were even born, and how difficult it all is, was really strong to me. The characters were always expected to uphold their "destiny", and do the honourable thing, at the expense of their own personal happiness, whether it was the Charmed Ones or Leo as a whitelighter. How did you feel about the evolution of the sisters' perspective on their respective gifts in regards to their own personal wishes? From Prue simply casting a truth spell to tell Andy she was a witch in season 1 to Piper having to entertain killing a witch to have a chance at happiness in season 8. (Personally, though some chalk it up to bad writing or mischaracterisation, I've always loved the more mature and jaded outlook of the later seasons without them being my favourite, as it was a testament to how heavy and unfair the Charmed gig really was. Especially after having lost Prue and having to continue nonetheless.)

2025-03-16 00:16:29 +0000 UTCAlso fun fact, there was a large fan campaign for a spinoff about adult Wyatt and Chris, and even Wyatts actor said he would love for it to happen. The network eventually said they would not go in that direction, partly because they had a new show about two young brothers fighting the supernatural ;) I can't image a charmed spinoff lasting 15 seasons.

2025-03-11 21:01:18 +0000 UTCThe network only agreed to season 8 as long as there was the edition of a new young witch, someone to potentially write a spinoff about, and with a smaller budget (which is why Leo had to leave). After a few episodes it was clear that fans hated billie (I like her but it's not the popular opinion), do you think if the fan reception was different you would have liked a Billie spin off? What would it even be like without the sisters?

2025-03-11 20:57:31 +0000 UTCWhat are your thoughts on Coles story both overall & how specifically the way all the sister's treated him like he knew he'd get possessed instead of tricked, and that he only did it to save them ? I found it infuriating in s7 when he returned both Piper and Cole acted like it was a choice and "not one of his finer moments " when it was a selfless act and pretty much was a thankless act at that? They wouldn't even help him out of the demonic wasteland. It made me think less out of all the sisters, especially Pheobe. Also did you feel Pru's absence throughout the series? My first watch as it aired I didn't beyond the first half of s4 but upon rewatches I really did the whole time.

2025-03-09 04:44:14 +0000 UTCAny interest in reading the comics? Theres a few official ones that follow the show finale adding what Wikipedia considers 2 more seasons. Not being tied to actors schedules or conflicts allowed them to give Cole a better conclusion imo and Prue exists, still cant understand not even having her photo in the staircase ending scene with the others, biggest miss of the whole show there possibly.

My question would be the following: Charmed's importance and influence in the pop-culture zeitgeist, among other heavyweights of the 90s like Buffy, can never be overstated. Why do you think that is? In other words, what do you think the show captured especially well? What were the strengths that enabled the audience to stick through less strong narrative moments at times in your opinion? (For me, I would say the show had a lot of heart with great characters written with a lot of warmth, and performed wonderfully as well by the actors. We never really needed to necessarily agree with the characters to still continue rooting for them.)

What's your final thoughts on Pheobe? I never looked at her the same after she broke up with Cole in the demonic wastelands, yet the sisters kept using him in s5.

2025-03-07 08:08:43 +0000 UTCCole Turner was written off the show because of Julian McMahon wanting to do other projects. Do you feel his whole arc in season 5 was a disservice to his character and he should've just stayed dead when he died as the Source in season 4?
