Regarding the poker money - they each put $1k in the pot including Eli, for $5k total. Because the money went missing, he'd be collecting $1k from each of them, he's going to be missing his own $1k if that's the case though. It ended up not mattering because Veronica solved the case but if I were Eli, and Veronica didn't solve it, I'd be asking for $1250 from each to make up for his own money he put in that was lost.
