I don't blame Mitch. I thought Jay was going to create an awkward atmosphere, not that he's unsupportive as we have seen he is loving. He has choice words. So I imagined he would ruin a good time, when in fact, he was the good time. I really need more of Jay and the Gays <3

All the stories tie together with a great message, as you said (BTW I'm sure Jay's story about crab cakes is true -- Gloria confirmed it, plus crab cakes are awesome). But more than that, Jay with the guys at the bar was just a beautiful sequence. I think most viewers cringe in advance (on first viewing) and then are delightfully surprised that Jay is so at ease. And I quite identified with Mitch thinking it over and realizing that he may have been unnecessarily guarded with his father.
