Rory is channelling Crowley in this episode: 'I deserve to BE LOVED!' Mitchum's citation of her is potentially a huge, exciting breakthrough, but she wants the same level of credit with which she was raised as the darling of Stars Hollow. Much like Lorelai, Mitchum is also 'driving Miss Gilmore' - in this case, Rory's career. But Rory is blindly sitting in the back seat. Similar blindness in Luke - he's great at removing the mote in his sister's relationship, but he should be examining the beam in his own. He should be able to work out what's driving his own Miss Gilmore, and why it means she might not stop being Miss Gilmore any time soon.
