Absolutely agree. I think some Stelena shippers get too caught up in the fantasy of the implanted visions to see what this episode is truly doing. Which is cementing the fact that their relationship is a nice memory for Stefan and Elena, but they've moved beyond it. As Elena told Damon... 'That isn't real, We're real'. The tension and angst is all on Delena... even the musical cues emphasize Delena... all hallmarks of a supercouple. (Sorry, I grew up on soap operas... and that is soap opera 101.) To paraphrase another show with one of my favorite couples... 'they don't write songs about the ones that come easy.'

2024-12-04 14:25:42 +0000 UTCI don't think this anywhr implies Stefan and Elena to be together or wanting to be together or something as per me infact it shows they are just friends and are at a better place with each other right now. On the other hand with Damon and Elena they clearly are still in love with each other but yes they need to figure some stuff out, be separate for a while probably and figure out to be in a healthy relationship without getting influenced of each other etc. Nothing wrong to separate for a while and figure out things.

2024-12-04 14:15:37 +0000 UTCIf anything, I'd say that this episode makes it clear that Elena and Stefan are not getting back together. They love each other but aren't in love with each other. With Elena asking Stefan if she & Damon would ever get to a similar easy place.... and Stefan thinking not because they are too in love to be friends. That was my take anyway. And we found out that Fate isn't drawing the doppelgangers together... it was just a travelers' trick. The scenes on the Other side were the most compelling though. Just made me want to see more there. S6 is probably my favorite season... or at least right up there. From the final 2 eps of this Season thru next Season... very enjoyable.
