Much like Wesley when he went from Buffy to Angel, that may indeed happen. I didn't care about Hayley on TVD, but I'm open to that opinion changing as I watch The Originals.

2024-08-06 12:53:11 +0000 UTCWell. This explains so much. I had tried the first two episodes of The Originals and didn't get too much into it, as it felt like I had "missed" something. This episode informs me I absolutely *did* miss something! Now I look forward to watching The Originals for essentially the first time, along with you, Liam. While I've watched The Vampire Diaries 3 or 4 times (I think this is the 4th time); I've never gotten past the episode that aired after Jeremy's death, the episode where Elena turned off her humanity at Damon's request. So after that, I've been watching the remaining TVD for the first time....and now I'm seeing THIS episode for the first time, LOL. My only annoyance now is that I never did like the character of Hayley. Guess I'll just have to put up with her and enjoy the rest.

2024-06-29 19:56:34 +0000 UTCYay I've been waiting for this episode! So glad no one spoiled that it's essentially a backdoor pilot of The Originals! Klaus getting emotional over Cami talking about the painting is exactly why Elijah is so determined to redeem his brother. As impossible as it seems at times, there's definitely some humanity buried deep down. Kind of sad how Katherine was able to relate to Klaus feeling alone. I'd like to think that in another universe (one where Klaus didn't chase after her for 500 years lol), they could have made great friends. I love the complex dynamics that get explored on The Originials. Between the Mikaelsons, Marcel and Klaus, Klaus and Hayley, and the different NOLA supernatural factions. Can't wait for you to see how it all unfolds!

2024-06-27 22:59:12 +0000 UTCI am so excited for you to start The Originals!! I love it so much! The dynamic between Klaus and Marcel is one of my favourites in the TVDU, and just so interesting! You get kinda a taste of it this episode, with Marcel referring to Klaus as his Mentor, and the little hints of their past. And just the way they are with each other. Marcel isn't afraid of Klaus in the slightest, yet he knows VERY well what he's capable of. And Klaus would've killed most people for talking to him in the way Marcel has this episode, yet that didn't even seem to cross his mind. You can just tell that there's an interesting history there. I'm excited for you to learn more of their dynamic and that history. And of course Klaus managed to get Hayley pregnant! Surprise! Bet ya weren't expecting that one! I don't know if that was always the plan from when they first hooked up in TVD or if they did that and then realised the potential there, there's probably information out there somewhere. But in my opinion it was a pretty good call and I love that of all characters they chose Hayley because she is actually such an interesting character. I love her. She's one of my favourite TVDU characters! What I'll always love about The Originals the most though is that it's WAY more focused on familial relationships than romantic ones. That's not to say there aren't any romantic relationships in the show, but the familial ones are the more important ones, and that just makes me happy because I've always loved platonic relationships in shows. Can't really blame Rebekah for not wanting to come join the in NOLA tbh. She deserves some time to herself after everything. But of course Elijah wasn't about to leave Klaus to deal with all this alone. Klaus is his no.1 priority.
