If Rory's heart isn't it in, she should be left alone to gravitate naturally to the administrative sector or wherever she wants to go. You don't fix low self-confidence by telling someone they just don't have what it takes. 'Are you sure that this is where you want to be?' might have been more appropriate. Mitchum's behaviour here reminds me of the newsmen from Stranger Things S3 towards Nancy.
