One of the things that always bothered me the most about the show was the notion of demons being inherently evil. Kira and Drake are really refreshing subversions of that, even more than when they did the episodes with the Manticore baby and the warlock brothers. I like to think that demons have a point where they have to choose evil as well. Maybe this episode is why Balthazar from Supernatural hates Billy Zane movies so much.
