It’s bad when Rory enables it. And she isn’t a good precedent herself. I think it’s stupid with Lor having to pointlessly hide this from Luke unless something did happen that we don’t know about

This is one of those episodes where Lorelei shows how stunted she is, and how much she refuses to grow up. A grown-up in a healthy relationship would be honest. Even though I love her, flaws and all, I hate when she sets these examples for Rory.

Notice that the title is never used as a suggestion for the name of the re-enactment woman. Lorelai may not have played the role of 'woman of questionable morals' in public but she's playing it in private.
I think Lorelai is desperate to maintain the wall she's spent years building between her self-made life and her background, so she builds it instinctively between Luke and Chris as well.
