Yay so excited for the start of The Originals! Buckle up, it's a wild and amazing ride! I love how just when it seems like Elijah is getting through to Klaus, Klaus goes and daggers him lol

I'm SO excited for this!!! The Originals is great! The characters are all just so interesting and I love them all.
Marcel and Hayley are both some of my favourite characters in TVDU. (As are Klaus and Elijah...)
I love what we see of Marcel's dynamic with both Klaus and Elijah so far. We see him with Klaus in the Backdoor Pilot quite a bit, and they clearly care about each other, and Marcel has a lot of confidence around Klaus. He KNOWS he can get away with talking to him in a way that a lot of people can't. He knows Klaus isn't going to kill him. They clearly care very much about each other, but Klaus has this resentment towards him, which you will of course learn more about. He wants what Marcel has made. He's afraid that Marcel has grown to be able to do what he never could.
But with Elijah, he doesn't quite have that same confidence. He's a little more on edge, but he's also still got this slight confidence with him too.
He's also VERY confident that he knows how to handle Klaus. He's very confident that he knows them, that he's safe with them for the most part. That confidence is more present with Klaus, we see him lecture him on the rules and even shouts a bit and taunts him. While with Elijah he still is able to tell him that how he controls the witches is his own business and all, but he's visibly more subdued with him. And I just think that's such an interesting dynamic to introduce right from the start. Usually characters are more comfortable with Elijah than Klaus, because Elijah is presented as this noble man who will keep his word and keep Klaus under control in any way he can, while Klaus is presented as this out of control monster who will kill you the first chance he gets if you piss him off, and even if you don't piss him off. But Marcel clearly has a much different view of them than most people. And I love it. It's a whole new dynamic, and definitely makes for interesting story. There's more I'm looking forward to saying on that topic, but can't for now due to spoilers. We'll get there very soon though... 🤣
And Hayley. Oh, I love her. I love her being nervous about being a mother due to never having a good one herself, and that paralleling Klaus with him never having had a good father. There's more there that I look forward to talking about, but again, spoilers... 🤣
Of course Klaus daggered Elijah at the end there though... As he said, he views love as weakness. Elijah is someone he loves, probably the person he loves the most at this point. So he sees him as something that can be used against him. He's of course not going to take any chances there. Poor Elijah did not deserve it though. From the second he arrived in NOLA (and long before that really...) he just wanted to help Klaus and get him on the right track and just make him see he has family who loves him. And what does he get in return? A dagger in his heart... But hey, Klaus is VERY paranoid. We know this. And it's part of what makes his character so compelling. And a big part of why I love him as a main character. I love when the main characters aren't necessarily the Good Guys, when they're actually kinda awful but we can't help but root for them anyway.
