It is a nice little moment. It's so interesting seeing how bonded Damon was with people like Carol and how he acts in her death because he was gen sad. As you said, the way he cherishes a person shows. Even with Alaric and how his death has clearly impacted him big time

As I said previously once Damon cares about someone he does it so intensely I love seeing that it's so sweet. I love the moment Elena tells Damon she loves him the look on his face is so adorable he looks at the sky like as if he's telling the universe I have got the girl of my dreams makes me so happy

Stefan and Elena have screwed her over before so the revenge is deserved in my opinion. I did hate how Stefan had to have the Elena/Damon thing thrown in his face when he's already hurting so badly. So heartbreaking. Forgot how amazing and action packed season 4 was
