My Xena and Gabrielle character study thesis is all about this. How they influenced each other in personality and changed each other emotionally because it really is quite a profound thing with them. XD I appreciate that this episode tried to expand on season 2's The Price, one of the best episodes of the series thus far. It doesn't quite meet the same standard but is a decent episode nonetheless. I always remember it as the episode with Owen Wilson (Milo) and Jack Nicholson (Rahl). XD Honestly though, they should have made it such that the girl got lost in the woods or got separated from her parents during a battle and the Pomira found her. That would make the ending more palatable, rather than having the Pomira be rewarded for kidnapping. Also liked that Xena seems to genuinely have learnt and grown (in no small part due to Gabrielle's influence) since then. I wished they didn't make Gabrielle so single minded in the first half of the episode; but they balanced it well with Xena reflecting on her involvement and what she brought to the situation at the end, One of the series' main strengths is how they both so strongly impacted each other and changed so much due to the other's influence.
