And the main thing we learn this episode is that Anya was right to be afraid of bunnies. Gabrielle attests. Yeah, not exactly a top-tier episode. Although I do like the fact that they show Xena and Gabrielle share everything as domestic partners. Even sickness. A clever comedic take on the phrase “In sickness and in health”.

I normally love comedic episodes of the show but unlike the very funny, wacky and clever Fin, Femmes and Gems from Season 3, this one sinks to the level of rather repulsive bodily function and gross-out jokes- a kind of humour I'm really not a fan of. And I think Xena is really too smart a show to go that low for laughs. Also i feel the special bond between Xena and Argo is made frankly asinine here. Sorry, definitely a stinker all round for me.

2022-04-29 04:30:58 +0000 UTCWell, this is certainly zany. It’s also pretty darn scatological, which may not be appealing to everyone. There are several bits from this one I think are quite funny, although they’re not from the selection of footrot/lice/diarrhea jokes. (I think Gabby’s delivery with her numbed tongue is funny in particular.) I will say that I don’t think very many shows would be willing to put their two beautiful female leads in positions that are so unsexy for a joke but clearly they were game.
