I don't think it's artificial. I never thought Xena really got over the death of her son despite the stand alone comedic episodes between episode 11 til now. And I don't think anyone would ever get over the death of their son or their feelings towards the individual that killed their son, especially when there is no remorse.

2022-04-10 00:11:43 +0000 UTCWell I think there obviously has to still be some moments of tension as regards the previous rift, resolution or no, especially as this story deals with the return of Hope it would seem a bit unnatural for there to be none at all. I personally think they did a good job with it. I have really been awaiting your reaction to this season finale two parter Liam as I knew you would react to the return of Callisto with great glee (as I do too!) And also now you can appreciate even more why watching that Hercules two parter was a good idea. Great cliffhanger to this one- when i first saw Renee was also going to be playing the reborn Hope, I was super excited :-) Can't wait to see your reaction to part 2. By the way, there's a great deleted scene from part 2 I wonder if you cut fit in with your episode 2 reaction - it's really worth a look and I have included the youtube link to it at the end of this message for you. I think you'll find it very interesting and for sure its a scene that I really wish had stayed in Part 2. 2022-04-09 22:49:07 +0000 UTCWhile I do not like that they artificially sparked some embers of the rift when that storyline had already been resolved in a way that couldn't be topped, this idea for the two-part finale was a strong one overall. I remember once posting on a forum years and years ago that a reality TV show villain looked like Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess. Then, another commenter said "more like her evil daughter Hope". XD
