Yes, same about Joxer. I wonder what the insight that would release him from the spell would be. Perhaps because he is lonely? Maybe he needed to come to terms with his unrequited love and desire for her? That he can’t have Gabrielle.

If they had been allowed to air the original script where Gabrielle became obsessed with sexual positions this wouldn't fully "out" them, but it would confirm they were indeed intimate with each other frequently. Although 'Been There, Done That' pretty much proved that anyway with the 'hickey' comment.
As much as I would have loved for this scenario to play out, I'm glad it didn't. Because Gabrielle would only be obsessed with Xena because of a spell. It would leave the watcher with a bad taste in their mouth as to whether they really did love each other or not. And for the LGBTQ community especially, it would be rather insulting as it would presume that a lesbian relationship can only be sexual and nothing more than that. It's not the sexual relations between them we're craving for. It's the romance. Their falling head over heels for each other because their friendship has turned romantic. The sex wouldn't matter in all honesty. That's something that today's shows involving gay relationships don't understand. If it is always sexual, it makes it seem rather fake. A fling rather than a romance. So that's why I have much more respect for how Xena and Gabrielle's relationship is. I don't want it watered down over a obsession spell where they're hyper-sexed with each other.

You should read about the original ‘Fins, Femmes And Gems’ episode before they changed it because the studio didn’t allow it to air. An interesting read.
Josh Becker (Director of ‘Fins, Femmes And Gems’): “This was the most controversial episode of the whole series, in that it was originally going to be the 'coming out' episode, when we'd finally find out that Xena and Gabrielle were gay. I didn't think this was a good idea and I said so, but Rob, as usual, paid me no heed. He also said that I had to shoot a love scene between Xena and Gabrielle in shadows, exactly like a DeBeers Diamond commercial. I received a tape of every version of these DeBeers shadow commercials. The point of this was so that Rob would get a free diamond ring for Lucy, whom he was about to marry. There was also a scene in the script where Xena and Gabrielle were to be rolling around in the surf kissing, just like ‘From Here To Eternity’ (The Bitter Suite). There was another scene where Xena bends down for something and Gabrielle looks up Xena's skirt and checks her out.”

I think is one of my least favorite from the funny episodes. But that's because she was married to someone other than Xena. XD

There’s a lot to enjoy about this episode, including Gabby singing a parody of The Ballad of Jed Clampett from The Beverly Hillbillies, one of my favorite sitcoms of all time.

There are episodes who do this that don’t pull it off but this did. I was lost in mind and yet I loved it 😂😂

The comedic episode we needed at this point in the season and absolutely one of my favourites. Lots of wacky fun and more innuendos than you can shake a stick at. "Zug Zug now!"
