I saw this long before the series. It's a comedy and should be enjoyed as such. Paul Reubens' over-the-top death throes were hilarious iconic. My friends and I still reference it today. It's like younger generation viewers take it too seriously, instead of appreciating the fun absurdity of it all.

I don't think that it was Buffy reincarnated was really Buffy reincarnated, more we were seeing it from her view point that we would recognize the girls from the dreams as being a slayer.....even though that should have been obvious but yea. Honestly I think 2 things about this movie-----the jokes held better during the 90's and it's something that would be appreciated more watching before the iconicness of the tv show not after to be appreciated for what it was

2021-12-06 02:06:42 +0000 UTCWhen I totally disassociate the movie from the show, I enjoy it. But I saw the show first and was very disappointed in the movie the first time I watched it. There was no emotional impact in the movie, no teen angst, and entirely too much comedy. But I do like the movie as a stand alone entertainment.
