Maybe? 🐴Argo, but, where is Argo? Had a feeling, Renee hurt her ankle, the make up on it, was too real, & swollen looking. Great way to add her to the Ep. Tho instead of sitting herself out. Hmm? 2022-03-05 06:38:31 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite episodes for sure! Little fun(painful) fact, Renee's ankle was actually harmed during the filming of this episode. One of the stunt guys landed on her ankle. It was actually the opposite one that was "hurt" in the episode.

I don’t think this ever occurred to me before, but right after a delirious Gabrielle tells Xena that she has the gift of prophecy, (thinking she’s back in Potideia at their first meeting,) she’s having a dream that turns out to be fairly prophetic.

2022-03-05 01:59:10 +0000 UTCThis was definitely the beginning of re-bonding and repairing the Xena-Gabrielle relationship after all the previous traumas in Season 3 and stands out as one of the best, if not the best, episodes of the entire series and is one much loved in the fandom. Lucy and Renee acting their hearts out at the top of their game with some of the most emotional and touching exchanges between the two of them. My own heart really breaks when a delirious Gabrielle begins reciting when she asked Xena to take her with her from the very first episode again. Also we get one of the most tremendous fight sequences of the series when Xena takes on the Persians - excellently shot, staged and scored and really ramps up the adrenaline. It took several very gruelling days to film and is worth all the effort for sure. A true classic and if I was ever to pick an episode i would show a newbie to get them interested in the series, I would probably pick this one for its emotion, acting, action, writing and direction. Another true classic hour of TV.

But really glad that you totally got what they were going for placing this story here to reaffirm their bond. :D Haha, I also have a question for fans who still read Xena and Gabrielle as just friends... When was the last time you told any of your friends, "even in death, I will never leave you" or "till the other side, we'll be together"? XD
