That was Lauren German having a little fun. Also Freddie Mercury got a little wealthier 31 years after he left us to join the Celestial Karaoke.

2021-10-01 00:48:57 +0000 UTCI think the big problem with this episode is that none of the musical numbers drive the plot forward or reveal something about a character that we didn't already know (partly but not exclusively because the songs aren't original). Compare that to the insane amount of development in Once More with Feeling and the difference is night and day. I had actually watched this episode for the first time myself just a few days ago and this time I found myself wandering off and doing other things during the musical parts because effectively nothing was happening. All sizzle no stake ;)

Every smile and heart touching moment you revealed reminded me why I too love this show so much and it was lovely (again) to share it with some one who is as invested in the Show and characters as I am. Thank you Liam. This season is going to be an absolute joy to share with you and experience all the laughs, drama and 'feels' all over again. Be prepared for the rollercoaster ride to top all that we have experienced do far. This Show and this season especially 5B, are something extraordinary.

2021-09-04 19:29:17 +0000 UTCI personally find a lot of the singing in this episode a little bit of a gimmick. Perhaps it's because I've been so spoiled by the Buffy musical episode that no other show's attempt is going to be as good. I also think that because we've seen a lot of these characters sing before, it's not as unique or special for them to be singing in a musical episode. It's probably not even fair to compare but by the time Dan and Linda have their musical moments, my interest in the gimmick had largely faded. I did however like a lot of the rest: Chloe confronting God 'respectfully,' God/Lucifer therapy session and God's very over-the-top supporting-dad act. Comedy gold!

The music in this episode is just fantastic, and so much fun! And I love that God is behind the reason for everyone suddenly and randomly breaking out into song, and that Lucifer is so frustrated by it all. And yet I love how he can't help himself when he too sings, just like he tells his father while in his latest session with Linda. For me, my favorite songs from the musical episode are... I Dreamed a Dream sung by Lucifer and God, Wicked Game sung by Lucifer, and Every Breath You Take sung by Lucifer and their suspect's overbearing mother. I especially love I Dreamed a Dream from the Broadway musical... Les Miserables. So beautiful and Tom Ellis has such an incredible and beautiful voice. The rest of the song order for me... is Smile sung by Trixie, Another One Bites the Dust sung by the whole main cast and ensemble, Hell sung by Dan, Amenadiel, and LUX ensemble, Bad to the Bone/No Scrubs sung by Ella and Maze, and lastly... Just the Two of Us sung by Linda, Amenadiel, and ensemble. I love all of the songs, and everyone does a phenomenal job at singing and dancing. I would love to know which songs were your favorites if you have one or two. My only real wish from this episode is that we would have gotten a duet between Lucifer and Chloe. I would have loved a duet between my favorite characters. I don't know why Chloe doesn't have a song of her own or with Lucifer, outside of what little she does sing with the rest of the cast when everyone sings Another One Bites the Dust together. Maybe because Lauren German felt uncomfortable with singing a song of her own, or maybe she doesn't have a good enough voice to be able to sing. But a duet between her and Lucifer would have been incredible!! I really, really hope that we will have one by the end of the show, sometime in season six. Maybe in the season six finale. :) I love, love, love that God takes the time to observe everyone in an effort to get closer to his sons, especially Lucifer. Their relationship is extremely strained to say the least. Far more strained than any relationship between a parent and their child. You can see that God wants to get closer to his son, and you can see how much Lucifer longs to repair his relationship with his father too, if only so that he can learn that he can truly love Chloe too. So he can feel that he is truly capable of love. And I really appreciate and love that Lucifer is the one who reaches out to his father to make the first effort to repair his relationship with his father like Chloe encouraged him to do. And I think that Lucifer certainly tries a bit harder to mend their relationship than even God does, because he so longs to have a loving relationship with Chloe. And God is so hilarious throughout this episode. I absolutely love him as a character, and the actor chosen to play him... Dennis Haysbert. He's just brilliant!! I absolutely love seeing Chloe's and Dan's reactions to meeting God as well. Dan's first meeting with him is hilarious and so awkward. And I love seeing Chloe stand up for Lucifer when she tells God off and chastises him for hurting Lucifer so shamefully. Good for her! And you can see how much her effort to do so means to Lucifer too, as he smiles upon hearing her defend him. He's so happy. And then... we have the confrontation in the ending between Lucifer, Chloe, and the killer, which I love because we see Lucifer immediately protect Chloe when he steps in front of the woman who attacks Chloe with the fire upon her getting caught. Brilliant! :) Overall... this is a phenomenal episode that I love very much. Musical episodes in any show are always so much fun, and for Lucifer... this musical episode is fabulous! I gotta say That Other Show having original songs made me kinda let down about this one being covers. I liked the other songs Lesley previously sang better for her voice than Bad To The Bone. I thought the non-singing scenes had a lot of good stuff in it too. The media announced the musical I remain impressed by your ability Liam to avoid seeing such things.

2021-09-02 23:57:07 +0000 UTCGive me something to sing about. Which in this episode they only sort of did, by being forced to sing pre-existing songs. Perhaps Lucifer would have been less angry with his dad if he had made him sing a song of his own making like in certain other shows.

2021-09-02 23:13:19 +0000 UTCI think people sometimes forget that Lucifer is still running off the information his mother told him in season 2 - that she had him sent to hell because God wanted to kill him. And that combined with Chloe's line summarizing Lucifer's situation - he misbehaved, was thrown out of the house and then was ignored for millenia. Lucifer kind of has every reason to not trust his Dad. I think it's more than justified for Lucifer to expect more than a few days of God suddenly deciding to be a parent to fix things. And I'm glad Amenadiel came to reflect on the situation with Charlie - he might be thinking that statistically angels are 'better' but... he wasn't thinking about what Linda heard which is she and Charlie are lesser or more flawed than angels. And I think it's easy to say Lucifer should just believe he can love Chloe and say it but, his honesty issues.... maybe because he's twin to a huge manipulator who lies, he can't say something he doesn't believe in an honest way. So he might be capable of love, but he can't say that unless he believes that. But great reaction as always Liam, was waiting for this one!
