This is one of my favorite if not my favorite adaptation of Cinderella.

2021-10-17 23:49:41 +0000 UTCI'm so glad this film finally got enough votes in the poll! This is one of my go-to comfort movies. I probably watch it at least once a month. It's got such a satisfying resolution, and I always loved how Danielle could stand her own ground. And I just love Jacqueline, what a sweetie (yes, both step sisters are usually awful in other depictions of this story). And fairy godmother Da Vinci, of course. Also (and you might have noticed but I couldn't tell), the two men being told the story at the beginning are the brothers Grimm, well known for their disturbing depictions of famous fairy tales. This is definitely my favorite version of the Cinderella story, as well. Glad you enjoyed it and I'm very excited for Little Shop of Horrors!

I know I'm one of the ones that voted for this :) What I love about this movie is while yes it happens over a few days it's more substance then the original walt disney cinderella where it happens over a dance. It gives you more chance to get attatched to the characters and yay for gustav dressing above his station like he said he wouldn't and jackline (I spelled that wrong) getting her own man despite her mothers put downs
