I did a re-write, too, in which Cordy is just pregnant by Groo and looking forward to having a baby when the world-threatening thing comes, and the two things are entirely unrelated. (I wanted to leave an out at the end, so if she wanted to cut back her hours, she could... but didn't have to.) This was a case of his awful behavior being detrimental to the story in the extreme.

Wow, I did not remember that Cordelia had an Adipose. :) I hate this storyline too, especially since recent revelations about Whedon and Carpenter. Couldn't they have found a less gross way to write in her pregnancy? Also, I've recently developed a new headcanon for this season. I won't discuss it here beyond this episode for spoiler reasons, but basically in my alternate narrative, Cordelia is pregnant with Angel's baby and Connor is still a baby himself.

Did you notice that they added Andy Hallett (Lorne) to the main cast credits? :-)
