New Show Thoughts
Added 2021-05-08 08:36:18 +0000 UTCSo I’ve been thinking of adding a new show but if you’ve stuck around, you know i can ramble (in a good way) just some shows, I want to react to but don’t have the time to do so (mainly for this reason and with who I am, it can take a bit out of me. Not burnout, just it’s general for me so I need a little break)
so I need your guys advice. Should I binge watch a short series or something like Invincible and leave my general thoughts in the last episode? I know some of you like me going in depth but I thought I would try something this once since some people don’t stick around for the latter part. Let me know :)

2021-05-20 21:27:17 +0000 UTCTo your actual advice request: I think there's probably a decent middle ground between thoughts after every episode versus binging a whole season/series and not providing any until the end. You could do *clumps* of 3-5 episodes in a shot with thoughts after each clump. I've seen Gravity Falls reactors do it that way since the episodes are so short. For my part, you're right, usually I only scan your post-episode thoughts for discussion on a few key moments and skip the rest, but when you consider how many of us there are and how different our definitions of "key moment" are, I doubt there's anything you've recorded that has ever truly been a waste of time. Clumps, IMHO, lessen the burden on you while still making it more likely that people will get to hear your thoughts on their favorite bit. Now, since everyone turned this into a show suggestion thread, I'd be remiss if I didn't include a few short shows of my own that I think would be a good fit for you as a watcher of things like Buffy, Good Omens and The Good Place. :) Here's my recommendations for shows with less than 25 episodes total: - Firefly - Dead Like Me - Lost in Space (the new one on Netflix) - Touch (technically 26 episodes, but still) :)

It's fantastic, but it provokes lot of thoughts and would probably cause lots of rambling, which I personally love, but it's no good if you're seeking something short and relatively simple!

Its' a show with Eliza Dushku that was cancelled pretty early. I always enjoyed it though! I think there are one and a half seasons basically.

Its perhaps a little long to be called a mini-series, but the episodes and seasons are pretty short and they would work well with the format since every season is focused on one person and their struggles in life. Four seasons, about ten episodes per season, about 20-25 minutes per episode ( some is shorter than that, others are a bit longer). Famous for being realistic in its portray of teenage life and got like 6 reboots in different countries because of it :P But the original version from Norway is still the best ( in my opinion).

The eps are only 30 minutes too. It stars ✨Karen Gillan✨ and John Cho 😍. It is smart and hilarious. It is also a modern take on "My Fair Lady". I think you would actually really like it. And I always enjoy your thoughts after episodes. You are very insightful. 😁

2021-05-08 20:42:21 +0000 UTCI would love for you to get around to Outcast (2016-2017), it's a horror/mystery/drama series based on a comic of the same name, it's only two seasons and around 8-10 episodes per season if I remember correctly. I remember being absolutely obsessed with it bc it had a good story with a great cast and I would absolutely recommend if you want something shorter :)

But if you are looking for a light show, entertaining and funny but not going into depths, I can reccomend you "Modern Family". I not it´s not a short show since it has 10 seasons. But it´s a funny show that doesn´t require much talking afterwards, cause it´s very light. Maybe you give it a shot. :) And one pisode is only 20 Minutes so it could be something quick in between, whenever you have half an hour of time. :)

I have a few short series I'd love to recommend - Haunting of Hill House (10 episodes), Sense8 (2 seasons - 24 eps total), Chernobyl (5 episodes), Forever (1 season - 22 eps total), Travelers ( 3 seasons - 34 eps), Glitch (3 seasons - 18 eps total).

2021-05-08 12:51:46 +0000 UTCI'd do a binge watch - mostly bc I can never understand how you reactors resist binging ALL THE TIME lolol. And if youre taking suggestions, The Untamed will a perfect one to binge; it's so freaking hard to stop watching. Also there aren't nearly enough reactors for it and no male ones that I've found, but the people who *do* react to it get swamped w watchers and don't give a flying leap about analysis as long as the reactor is enjoying? Lolol. It's a period C-Drama BL that came out in 2019, lots of Chinese mysticism and found family dynamics - the two leads are AMAZING, and so is their romance (although bc of Chinese censorship laws, everything is implied rather than stated outright..but that actually makes it better, it doesnt feel like baiting at all). The first two episodes are kind of confusing but then it goes into a 30 episode flashback and by episode 3 I was hooked and it's SO GOOD, and now I'm basically rambling so I'll shut up but anyway. It's def one to consider lolol.

But I would hate to do without your reactions after the end of the episode -- I always stick around for them, that's the whole point of supporting a reactor.

2021-05-08 08:57:54 +0000 UTCWell my one main recommendation for a show (besides Hercules and Xena - which you're watching now) would be Babylon 5 as you're obviously a fan of shows where characters progress and evolve in great ways. B5 is I feel one of the best written and planned series in terms of its arcs ever and I think you'd have a really good time with it. However as its 5 seasons (and some TV movies) it would have to wait until you had the energy and time for a longer show. But I thought i would mention it to you anyway.

Person of Interest starring my absolute favorite actor, Jim Caviezel, as well as Michael Emerson, Kevin Chapman, Taraji P. Henson, Amy Acker, and Sarah Shahi. I think you would absolutely love it!! And it's five seasons long.
