Will this get me sued.mp4

So today we have something special to look at. This is the first hour we have completed on the "remake edit." Dad has been going through and rewriting+rerecording the non-public domain reviews of The Beverly Hillbillies. The editing style is what I came up with to hopefully guarantee that Paramount won't shit their pants when I post the video again. Would it stand up in court? I don't know, but I do think it's limited in use to the point that Paramount would look quite bad to go after us for this.

The question is - does everyone think it's watchable? I'm tempted to say that this works better than the original edit because it's (on average) about 2 minutes faster per episode. If this goes over well, I might make this my style when I talk about Doctor Who one day.

Man it hurt so bad when this got taken down, I still had like 4 hours left, I was genuinely invested. Thanks for trying to bring it back :’)

I think this works well. It would be nice to have occasional illustrative interjections of the original show, a la the nick saga, but I get wanting to err on the side of Not having to fight paramount with a baseball bat

Micah Rutrough

This is watchable, though I am not sure if that is my brain filling in the gaps from watching the original show . I really prefer the old style, but for obvious reasons I get why we can not stick with that. I know we can not have a lot but I really do feel the lack of audio clips kinda take away from the whole thing. I am not sure where the balance is in terms of what you are allowed to do, but no audio kinda takes away from a lot of the jokes and magic that was there with the media being presented & the commentary coming from "Quintion's Dad". i will say no matter I do appreciate all of the effort that went into this video, the original video is no joke my all time favorite video on all of YouTube

I think this is copyright strike safe, your dad is great as a presenter and his analysis is great!πŸ‘ I was aware of the Beverly Hillbillies but I’d never known much about it so this is a treat to watch.πŸ₯³

Chad Weaver

I don’t know how I feel about the slow-no segments. The still images feels largely indistinguishable from the comic recaps, so I think those are enjoyable. Also far less likely to get claimed

Bryan Daly

I like this and I think it would work! I've definitely seen other creators use still images in their retrospectives. I know you're fixing the previous video but I'm really hoping we'll work our way around to Green Acres. 😁

Christine Crawford

This is still very watchable! I think the pacing works really well.

Caleb

I'm into it! Having watched the original, i think this isva good summary and still keeps my attention. I'm used to listening to podcasts and it has that kind of feel. I also like still having the visuals so you get the gist of what is being spoken about.

DOCTOR WHO VIDEO WHEN!!!!! IVE BEEN DYING FOR A NEW DW VIDEO FROM YOU!!!!! but I am British thou….

Marvin McIntosh

I think it'll work fine, I kinda like the slideshow presentation compared to just letting the episode play out. Despite the joke of "long video" I do think it's best that each episode was trimmed down a little for pacing. Can't wait for this amazing video to be back out there!

Tsundere Merc

This is fine. Lot more brevity, not entire episodes.

J Singh

yeah I think this works it reminds me of those old cinemassacere monster madness movie reviews

Shirif Bousseba

It did take me a minute to get used to this new style but I think this is a great idea. Im really excited to see the full video again!

Bluejay

More than watchable better than what I was expecting, the gifs really help. I'd watch this a second time at least on podcast mode.

Jeed

Still insane to me that paramount copy struck the most action these series have seen in actual decades. The new edit looks like it'll work just fine!

Chihuahua Apologist

The still images are much more watchable than the slowed down video.

Charles Reimer

I loved the chaos of the 36 hour cut but for actual longevity I’m excited for each episode to be shorter. This works really well, and god I hope Paramount aren’t total dumpster fires about it. I’m even more excited at the possibility of you doing a Doctor Who video/series.

Emma Avery

I think you can get away with still frames like that. I’ve seen other people do this and it works.

Moony

I was driving to work today thinking about how wonderful your dad’s video was. I’m so glad it gets to live on in some form. Your channel has been one of my favorites for the past few years. Keep up the amazing work!!

Stella Tomasi

Eh, probably not. It's not quite in my personal range of memory.

Kyle

Would you ever consider doing a Saved By The Bell retrospective?

Tyler Gorash

omg!! i think this might work?? id still need to watch through the whole thing to double check, but just briefly skimming, it seems like it could fly under the radar! :0 i wont lie, the choppiness of the episode clips was a little jarring at first, but with the added context as to why its like that, it becomes very acceptable and easy to digest after the fact 😀 great work, quinton!! so glad to see that yall are so dedicated to finding a solution πŸ₯Ή
