April Fools video: 22 hours

As promised, here is the 22 hours I am keeping of the original April Fools edit. This is mostly the public domain stuff and the intermissions... However, we are planning on keeping some of the Petticoat Junction stuff outside of the public domain, because CBS didn't mention that show at all. We'll see how things go.

I’m an eagle eyed viewer who noticed that Jed’s coffee grinder is identical to the antique coffee grinder that my great grandparents owned. It’s sitting atop my entertainment center.

Its funny, I commented on the original video that I prefered Petticoat Junction over TBHB, but I was surprised when I scrolled down and saw that others disagreed, and i have to admit I did eventually sour on it. I soured on it a LOT quicker rewatching this now, knowing how consistent its regressive streak becomes. Thank you for uploading this, looking forward to giving the full video a look when its finally out!

lucky!!!!

Prince Lucena

Just reached the 15:25 mark. So sad that i missed the chance to watch it in full. Will def watch the edit when it comes out,,

Prince Lucena

I watched/listened to the 38 hour version twice before you had to take it down. Clearly, I greatly enjoyed it. 😁 (I've also watched this edited version!) Thank you Russ, for making sure a video got posted on Quinton's channel in his absence! 😉 I really, really hope you guys are able to cover some of the color episodes as well as cover Green Acres! I can't wait for the intermission intermission intermission intermission intermission intermission intermission intermission!!

Just wanted to send my appreciation for this deep dive into pop culture. Watched quite a bit with my mom who's in her 60s. We really enjoyed the intermissions. I appreciate the archival process. Also we enjoyed your Russ Reviews segment with your wife. We feel that we deserve compensation from CBS to be put through that episode of Petticoat Junction as well.

I’ve lived next to the state railroad museum in Carson City, NV almost all my life! Cool to hear it’s origins!

Polly D

My admiration for Russ Reviews grows every minute I watch. Sending so much appreciation and positivity to yall

Nann

Super glad to see it's back, even in limited form!! I was having a blast watching it, so I'm just happy to know how it ends!!!

cheetour

Please leak the original somewhere. Censored videos due to copyright are just so depressing to watch

Sages Rain

I'm glad the video is here. I was gonna cry. I was literally in the middle of it

Haley Regan

heartbroken that the original video got copyright struck, i was clearly in the same camp as your father believing that it was like...okay to use work from the public domain, especially if its in an extremely transformative context. i'm so glad y'all have managed to recuperate a pretty significant portion of the footage, and i hope that you can put together the rest in a way that paramount doesnt act like moneygrubbers about it again (im genuinely so excited to see your proposed solution for the rest of it, i hope that it works out for y'all) the beverly hillbillies deep dive is dead, long live the beverly hillbillies deep dive

Ari Eckley

Do you have a list of all the segments you had to cut from the video? Mainly interested for reference so that if I watch this and you do eventually upload a new cut of the full video, I'll know which of the segments I haven't seen yet.

RPG Hacker

glad this is at least partially back, gl getting the rest sorted !!! time to try and find where i was before it got taken down ...

bagelemily

Quinton should definitely put this up on nebula or at least for download someplace. It kills me that paramount did this to them. Monsters.

uh

Cara McNeil

thank god I can pick up where I left off at 5:45 and the question of “how DO you tell which ads go with which petticoat junction episode” will be satisfyingly revealed

Cara McNeil

Either way best of luck, I'm so sorry that they did that to you guys. This has been delightful. Never would have considered that I had any interest in these shows at all, but your dad's presentation of it is great, and your editing is lovely.

You've probs already thought about this, But if audio is easier to pass than video, I know I personally watch long content like this I'm back and forth between like actively watching it and just listening? And just making sure that I'm always watching during like your intermission stuff? So again if audio pass is easier than video, then if it's safe to upload just like the audio track, I know I'd be into that.

SSLeif

Can you please post the full original video on Dropbox / Vimeo / Rumble / BitTorrent? It's art and needs to live on.

Paul Rohrbaugh

I was 24 hours into this video and loving every second of it I would love to pick up where I left off but figuring out where that was is very difficult. if the full video is available anywhere I will pay a kings ransom for it!

Helmaroc

Man, it sucks so much that the original got taken down - I've been watching for a few hours after work every day. :( Thank you so much for putting this cut up! I've been meaning to sign up for your Patreon for a while, but this really kicked me in the ass to actually do it - hopefully some more people will follow over to help you recoup some of the losses.

Calliope

Thank you for posting this! My wife and I had really been enjoying Russ' video and are upset it was taken down. CBS are fools, because it was hearing about all of Jethro's antics as Double Nought Seven made me want to check out the series proper. Please let your Dad know that we love his video - A LOT - and that we appreciate the hard work both he and you put into it. PS - There is a Gluten Free pierogi factory near the Detroit area. When you come to Youmacon, you might wanna pick some up for him because all Midwestern Folk need pierogi to live, and I hate to see a fellow Celiac/Gluten-Intolerant losing out. "Old World Gluten Free" -- check out their website, I believe you can buy their products at the Whole Foods that is near downtown/the convention location.

Big Screen Video

for anyone needing timestamps to see if they can pick up where they left off, i left a youtube comment with a description of the segments in the video and the corresponding time! :)

rosie

This is better than nothing, but it is a real shame that we miss out on so much. I'm sorry you and your dad put in such great work that people won't get to see, but what's here is still great.

Adam Violet

Ecstatic to see this cut so quickly. Shame that I went from about 17 hours left to 4 hours left, but I'll take anything I can get! I'll agree with some of the people here that a full cut on Patreon would be phenomenal if possible, although the last thing I want is for you to get into trouble or anything.

Nic Vulcano

Thanks for posting this! Looking forward to watching at least some of the bits I didn't get to in time

Caleb

CBS is trying to spread cultural Marxism and weaken the specialness of the father son dynamic

nat

Please release the full cut here on Patreon. If you have to break it up into multiple videos, have each video end with one of those “CHANGE REEL” screens followed by the visual of the reel running out of film and going blank.

Matthew Malachite

omg it's here!! :') thank you so much for getting this to us so fast!! i'm still really sad over the original being taken down, not only bc i hadnt finished it, but bc this was something you and your dad worked on for 2yrs :( it was such a labor of love and it being struck down was unjust. HOWEVER, i am super stoked to atleast have this version, and i'll start making my way through it asap >:)

rosie

Your dad is a treasure, I've always wanted to get into the Beverly Hillbillies, but it always seemed too daunting to just jump in

Bob Preston

You can upload the full version directly to patreon instead of YouTube. Just put the 22 hr edit on youtube and the 38 hour one on patreon. You could also Dropbox it and put the link on patreon so we can download it from there.

Neville Singh

thanks for doing this Quinton, I was about 12 hours in and was sad to see it taken down

Sarah

I honestly feel like I can't even watch it, like I feel like I can't even find where I was, on a video that's missing 16 hours of content. I'm glad the Intermission intermission intermission intermission intermission intermission intermission got to stay.

L Q

I still really hope that you can upload the full 38 hour version to the internet archive. I found a super compressed 360p version of that edit and I'm thinking of watching it, I'm still really mad I deleted my downloaded copy of the full version, but it was just too big and I needed the space.

ChrisFratz

If you do reupload a different version, a lot of us would still want to watch it from the beginning to be honest. Like knowing everything at the end and rewatching from the beginning.

Elizabeth Rose

It's on Internet archive

Elizabeth Rose

Man. Devastated [not as much as either of you, of course] that this happened before I could finish the original one. I'd kill for a hard copy of the original for myself. alas.

The Doom Merchant

Thank you :)

Dachosn1

Thank god the intermissions are still available to watch cause that was the best stuff

J Singh

It is back
