Just based on personal music taste, I do prefer the more R&B/jazz-influenced styles of the Wish You Hell b-sides a lot more, so I really adore that album - even if I am also a bit meh on the title track. But Wendy is an artist who's so talented that she can really nail any style she goes for, so I'm excited to see what else she tries in the future. Must've been an unreal experience to hear her voice live!

2025-10-31 23:40:48 +0000 UTCEvery fandom throws superlatives around, but I like how nobody really disputes that she's at least top 3 and most agree she's objectively the best. Skills so high even delulus and trolls shut up. Red Velvet is probably the one group where, if they announced "we will never have a concert outside of Korea again, here is your last chance", I might actually fly there. I wasn't big on Wish You Hell and didn't listen to the album much (listening to it now, it was probably too chill for what I was looking for at the time). Cerulean Verge kept my interest much longer, so it'll be good to get a refresher here. And I didn't even know about that Band live set! Today I learned that I am not a lip reader, but you looked like you enjoyed. I think all RV solos have consistent and strong, unique musical identities. Seulgi's is Velvet and some darker, more intense electronic stuff, Irene's is a bit lighter and atmospheric, Joy's is more of the brighter Red sound, but still velvety too. I feel with those three, you can immediately tell they are Red Velvet members (and SM produced). Wendy's is of course more independent, some soul and diva-like, some singer-songwriter, some Pop Rock, which RV doesn't really have. So I feel her part of RV's sound is "simply" her voice. Her musical identity is really whatever she wants to do, because she can excel at pretty much any kind of music. Did Queen of the Party make it onto the setlist? It better. Jesus, what a treat those band live performances you chose are. Cerulean Verge is a super cool name and a well-produced album. It's much less "processed" than SM production and more of a crisp band sound with real instruments. I've said before how I'm not really big on Pop Rock, but this album is really good. I could have sworn you saw Sunkiss and Believe.. I watch too much stuff.

Queen of the party was great in the previous album but I love Cerulean Verge the most out of all her albums so far
