Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a playful weekend.
As a lifelong TRON fan (+ lifelong NIN fan) I of course went and saw TRON: Ares. I liked it! Super happy I saw it on IMAX. Kinda kicking myself I didn't see it in 3D. Would consider seeing it again just for that, but the chances of finding time to make that happen within the two weeks movies stay in theaters these days seems unlikely.
Definitely stuff that could have been done to strengthen the plot/pacing/characterizations, but that's on par with all TRON (and mostly every movie). But the stuff I liked, I really liked, and when one has to wait over two decades for new TRON, I'll take what I can get. Maybe we'll get another one (or even another animated series) in twenty or so years to build on some of the fun concepts these films always come up with.
I will say I am rubbish at the classic arcade game, as with anything in life I have to make snap decisions with. I'll stick to "explore at your own pace" adventures like Zelda.
Anyways, enough TRON talk. I had fun with this prompt. It's been said to me that since this is my final year drawing these, I should maybe keep one of them for myself and this is the first piece I'm considering that with. But we'll see. Maybe I'll just price it out of reach đ .
For those interested in seeing the pains I went to inking that arcade machine in my stubborn avoidance of using any acrylic paint, feel free to slide though the process pics.
