The Harry Potter Time Skip Poll

Hi all! We're at the end of the First Arc of A Student of Black Magic finishing so I figure I would do a poll here asking how far ahead people would like for the Time Skip to be.

As I currently designed the story the next two years are something far more uneventful because of the information that Ares now has access to. This information I originally planned to be in retrospect as we move up to the fourth year where new major events will occur cascading from the first year changes (which have thoroughly derailed the next two years).

On the other hand I can understand if people would like to see the next two years for themselves, though this will make things more of a slow burn before we get to the "good" stuff.

So I figured the best option was to put it to a Poll.

I would have to agree year 3 can be skipped as it whole plot been wrapped up already maybe a year where absolute nothing happen and it just a normal school year, but year 2 is so Intreasting for character growth (more so with it being the first year siris will be free to interact with the story) and plot that I think it does deserve it own arc

As it stands right now it's pretty obvious that the time skip option is going to win but I think that while year 3 can be skipped with no issue since the main plot has already been resolved. Year 2 on the other hand features what I consider to be the most interesting version of Voldemort mainly because it's the most successful he really gets prior to year 6 and arguably demonstrates the most strategic thinking. If a non corporal version of Voldemort was to pose any threat to someone who knew his initial plan it would be the diary horcrux who has a good way to take someone off the metaphorical board for a bit with the basilisk. I imagine Ares would get petrified in a stupidly noble effort to stop Tom Riddle which would make for an interesting Sirius and Iris scene. More importantly Ares has already speculated that his actions could potentially change how year 2 plays out so he might not go in assuming it's going to happen the same way or even at all which would be an interesting situation to see him react in. I guess my point is that while aside from some emotional stuff year three doesn't really have much to use but year 2 has quite a bit that you can do with it.

I'm voting for timeskip just b/c I would like the story to progress to the point where it's not an adult in a childs body, but my personal opinion is one that I saw in another story, where the author spent one year on 1st (not relevant here), 2nd, and 3rd year. It makes sense here because neither of the major plots of the 2nd and 3rd can realistically happen with a character who knows the original plot and has already dealt with Pettigrew. Just showing how his relationships change with Sirius/other adults and the kids his age is interesting enough to fill a couple chapters, and the stuff with Draco hasn't been touched on enough IMO to warrant a timeskip without addressing it. The TWT is something that you can easily expand on to make a lot more sense (why are 2 schools coming for a grand total of 3 events, no club events, no interschool competitions, no wider publicity??) and introduces new interesting characters. So even keeping with the plot of 4th year being the TWT, there's still enough there for the plot to pick back up. Having the OC take part in the tournament instead could be cool too.
